I think these are my first somewhat serious try at some tiny critters. This spider never stops while weaving his web; some shots show his silk flowing from him. It was interesting watching this spectacle as once the silk left his body the wind (oh yes the wind!) blew it away but no problem for the spider. He would pull it back in place, then refine it again and again until it met his standards.

I found this little spec of a spider while shooting some bromeliads in my backyard. I can't remember seeing a spider in action on this website so I thought to post some.

Nice shots. Welcome to the addiction. This is an Orchard Orb Weaver. Leucage sp. Probably Leucauge venusta...

The colors are wonderful. I have never seen one that color. I would like to see it from the top side.

Thanks, it is indeed colorful and I had no idea until I viewed them on a 30" monitor. The only vantage point I had was to see an upside-down spider. Nonetheless, I am happy with my spider photos.

Thanks, It was fun and rather easy compared to what I have to do for my wildlife photos, like travel thousands of miles, along with all that a trip like that ($$$$$) would entail. I may start looking much closer in my backyard!

Thanks again!

Here's one I took with my tiny camera, Olympus M10IV.

Thanks, I probably would never have found this spider if not for the spider weaving his web above one of my bromeliads. Yesterday, I decided to get a few more photos of those flowers and saw the web then spotted this tiny spider barely visible even from a couple of feet, with my eyes at least. This one I'd say was no larger than 4mm.
