Can anybody give me an advise for a good alternative for a printer next to my epson 2100? I like the 2100 but the prints are expensive and I don't always need this quality.

I would like to use the printer for printing small sets of examples which I sent to different people or companies.

Thanks,

The Epson R800 may be your answer.

If you don't need anything larger than A4, what about the Canon i560 or i865. Both are very fast for photos and are also very good text printers. Photo quality will be close to the 2100 and presumably you won't be worried out print fading if you are only sending out examples.

The Epson R800 which Vincent mentioned is an A4 pigment ink printer, but it won't be available until early next year.

Try new or refurbished 1270/1280. Since you are already familiar with Epson, why not.

Great looking glossy, matte, semi, most all finishes look wonderful, great color gamut.

Buy a canon and buy a refill kit or cfs for it and print.

you wont need to worry about fading or anything because its only examples and it works good for that.

or actually any epson if you buy cfs for it but the canons are much faster so I would guess that the canons are more interesting for the purpose that you want to use it.
