24mm or 28mm Sigma lens for Lumix S5 - landscapes

Glad to read that you have made a choice you're happy with. Personally I don't think I'd ever go with one of the lenses designed for DSLR but with an adapter built in unless it was something really special that I didn't expect to see in a native version for quite some time, but everyone makes their own choices, such is the greatness of the ILC.

I was in two minds for the reason you mention, but my worries were chased away by reading reviews of those using it on L Mount. Also I'd prefer a smaller lens if it were out there, but there is nothing in this focal range for prime lenses. I'd been shooting with my Fuji and XF100-400mm yesterday, so the new lens couped with the S5 this afternoon (went straight on as soon as it was delivered) was never going to feel so heavy as that. It is definitely weighty, but will reside in a backpack for its intended use as a landscape lens. I'd have no qualms about carrying it in my hand though. Sadly I don't have any landscapes outside my house, but I did faff in the garden a little. Some pics below, jpegs cropped and edited to my liking in Snapseed. I still wish the viewfinder on the S5 was a little bigger.
