Did the RF 28mm ship or not?

Got mine form Adorama last Wednesday. Haven't had a ton of time to play with it, but did get some shots with my RP and R7. R7 shots below. Processed with LR/PS

had much time to play, but got some shots with myR7 and RP with it. R7 shots bellow

Looking at the image of the frog at 100% view, the falloff from the focal plane is really smooth and the focal plane is very flat up close too. The lens is fun I'll say that much! It makes getting these kinds of shots really easy and the sharpness allows for a lot of cropping in.

A landscape stopped down to f/6.3. Pretty much sharp all over the frame...

Canon website says the product will be delivered tomorrow. My pre-order still says processing and that standard shipping will deliver in 3-7 days. Am I really going to have to wait another week :(

This lens is now in stock at B&H.

Good flag thank you. I canceled with Canon and ordered from B&H and it says I should get it tomorrow. Can’t beat that

Looks like you're on the West Coast. I'm on the East Coast (Virginia) and should get mine tomorrow. But maybe yours will arrive early...Saturday or Sunday.

B&H shipped, ETA tomorrow. Pretty convenient. I live in Maryland and they’re shipping from New Jersey

B&H West Coast office would be nice.

One time I got excited by this but on closer inspection was disappointed:

... Anyone else got them? Looking forward to more impressions and pictures...
Well I guess I should say finally got mine:

That box looks way too big for what it should contain!
That box looks way too big for what it should contain!

Even that box looks a little big
Even that box looks a little big

Ok, that looks better. However, still a little oversized on the R50

And finally a photo with it. I do like the 45mm equivalent of 28mm more than 28mm on FF.

Nice !

Looks like a good fit on the R50.

I can switch the R50 to manual focus just by holding the shutter button down and adjusting the focus ring so sometimes I put my middle finger on the focus ring while keeping my trigger finger on the shutter button.

That is not in the advanced user manual.

Who knows what else they left out.

Looks like the focus ring on the RF 28mm is in a good place for me to use when I sometimes switch to manual focus.

Hi,

What case is recommended for an R5 with the RF 28mm. The R5 with the 28mm will be lost in the Lowepro TLZ 55!

Kind regards,

Martyn

The R50, 18-150, and 28mm form a pretty small travel kit. Only thing lacking is the wide end, but iPhone can usually fill that gap.

Hmm, I tried this but couldn't get it to work. In any case, after having used the manual focus RF-S 35mm f/1.4 TTArtisan lens for a while on the R50, I am looking forward to having autofocus with the 28mm.

On my R50.

Manual mode, servo off if I half press the shutter button and turn the focus ring at all the camera will do 5X zoom and manual focus.

If after taking a shot I continue to hold down the shutter button and turn the focus ring the camera will switch to manual focus with focus peaking and the distance scale.

I see now that [ ] One-Shot→enabled (magnify) in the AF 4 menu must be set for this to happen.

Ah, there it is. And only if the ring is not in Control mode.

So many features and options!

But they couldn’t give us the option to set ISO increment to 1 stop…
