I Like this photo Andrew Beautiful landscape ,The E3/E5 with the 12-60 was a great combo keep it to low ISO and they were stellar 👍
A four image pano taken with the E3 and the 12 - 60 mm at 17 mm, f/8, ISO100.

I’m always up for a good stitched pano Andrew, and that’s a good one !

And stitching is a favourite pastime of mine - browsing the archives and seeing what can be joined and usually being surprised with what I find - often I find sequences which I must have taken with stitching in mind but forgot to do it.

I’d be happy to see your Weekly come back to this site

A few from the past couple of days.

Another moon pic and probably the last until atmospheric conditions improve.

A well done and very nice set of images Craig.

I hope you are enjoying your national holiday. It would seem that covid policy political turnings have soured ours for me. I am not sure that society as we knew it can survive much longer unless people become more tolerant of the views of others.

Thank you, Andrew. I am trying to improve my skills and using the RAW files for a change. I upgraded my DxO software recently from an ancient version to the current version. It helps with the moon images. I just need to lose the color aberrations at the edges and try not to over-sharpen the images. Lots to learn.

It is a strange holiday here this year. I am not sure what to make of my country any longer. There are so many things I do not recognize. Common sense and civility seem in short supply. There is probably more turmoil ahead.

Summer has finally arrived here with seasonal temperatures (hot and dry). It was relatively cool during May and June--and wet. Hopefully, it will be a quiet fire season here, but one never knows.

I am considering restarting the thread here at DPR. My reluctance stems from the accommodations Bobn2 and the team at DPRevived were happy to make for me there. Also, the new owners here have not made it clear yet how they intend to run this site. Will the forums continue as they have been or not? Will personal galleries here remain unchanged from days past? I deleted about 400 images from my galleries here and will likely go further. That is why some images don't show in the older threads any more. I deleted images in the past as well as DPR had a maximum of 1000 images as a stated policy but the numerical number was 10000! Some people had up to 3000 images before the 'shut down'. I asked for my data but never got it. Perhaps it went to my spam folder and was deleted. If you upload images to DPR threads directly from your computer I suspect they stay here forever. No opportunity to remove them without the assistance of an administrator.

The traffic in the subforum there has slowed to a halt. For the time being there is not much sense in my continuing there.

Andrew,

DPR was always like a pub to me, where the owners provided free drinks each and every day to its patrons and asked for nothing in return. Go meet your friends at the pub, share some photos and some stories and come back the next day for more.

When DPR didn't shutdown on April 10, some of us were given some free time to enjoy the site until it did shutdown. I never quite found my footing in DPRevived or DPR Forum. Visiting other fora on this site, I don't think I am alone. Going-on 3 three months we are still here and there have been few changes to the appearance of the site. The lights remain on. My purpose is to enjoy this site as much as I can and for long as I can.

Having said that, change will no doubt be coming to this site at some point and probably quite soon. Gear Patrol and DPReview are different sorts of entities. It is not unreasonable to assume at this point that DPReview will evolve or change to reflect the business model of the parent Gear Patrol. Whether the forums survive as we know them today is a big question. What exactly is the business model for Olympus SLR Forum--a defunct camera business and and an obsolete technology? DPRevived may ultimately be the solution, but we aren't there quite yet. Simply the existence of this site as we know it makes it tough to move completely to DPRevived (at least for me) until the change arrives.

Let's enjoy ourselves here for a while longer.

I never thought I would see the day when a 150-400mm would be someone's standard lens, Craig.😃

It's a great lens, there's no doubt about that, but I could never justify its purchase. It could lead to a divorce and that's even more expensive.

Love to Jake.

The rain stopped for a little while yesterday and I visited Bishops Bay near the entrance to Loch Leven. It's a lovely little anchorage for a few yachts.

I noticed a heron at the water's edge. They're usually quite shy but this one wasn't troubled by my presence in the least.

Lovely views Dave with a friendly obliging Heron the weather here is very dull I hope or two weeks of great weather wasn’t or summer 🌞

It is my standard lens---great for Jake pics, flowers, birds, and objects in the sky.

I will pass the message along to Jake, who is now asleep on my lap as I sit here typing.

Nice series, Dave. At least the rain keeps the landscape green.

Thanks Paul. The weather isn't looking good for the foreseeable future. I too am beginning to worry that dummer might be over.

Dave

A few weeks ago the grass was quite brown but I needn't have worried. Normal service has been resumed.

Dave

A lovely looking landscape Dave. I’d rather like to walk there, even in the rain.

We have similar weather at the moment and the weeds in the garden are taking full advantage.
