Samsung NX300, shoot without lens

I am a new owner of this camera, with the purpose of using it for vintage lenses, ( I tried to do it following a YouTube video but no success)

Wondering if there are any clear instructions on how to access the developer options

Also my firmware is v 1.31, do I need to update it and if so can I do it on the body options

Many thanks

I only own an NX5 and an NX11 and on those the presence of the lens is defined by an electrical switch/contact in the lens throat of the camera … a silver conical button at about 5 o'clock when looking at the front of the camera.

If this switch/contact isn't activated the camera will report "No Lens".

So the questions are :- does the camera operate correctly with a "native" lens fitted? and how are you attaching your "vintage" lenses?

I use my NX's principally for "legacy" glass, primarily Russian M39 rangefinder lenses, but occasionally for Exakta-fit lenses and some other stuff, and have no problem if the appropriate adaptor is correctly manufactured (and some of them do have "variable" tolerances!)

Good luck :)

Thank you

Yes my camera has that same button, I manually pressed it and the shutter works. However if I can avoid the hard fix and change it through developer options it would be great, like in the video:

sadly the method doesn’t work for me ( version 1.31 firmware) despite numerous positive reports

Do you already have the adapter(s) for your manual lenses?

Once an adapter is fitted it should press the switch inside the lens mount so the error condition doesn't occur. However... some adapters have been known to have bayonet tabs that are too thin and don't press the switch sufficiently.

Thank you for pointing that out, it turned out it is that simple , tried another adapter and it worked🙏. I feel stupid now
Not at all... LOTS of people had this problem when the cameras first came out!
