'It's crazy; I've been working on my OM SYSYTEM OM-1 review for over a month and I'm still not done. It has more features than any camera I've ever used, and thus it's taken this long to try to write up and explain what it can do! Hopefully later this week I may have my review and guide ready for you.'

Already a review of the 90mm macro.

Is there a link?

and it's out:

"The OM SYSTEM OM-1 is the most feature-laden camera I've ever reviewed, and it's all super-easy to use. It's taken me over a month to explore these new features, many of which I've never seen working so well on any other camera.

The OM-1 is a great choice for people who love fast frame rates, state-of-the-art computational photography like handheld Pixel-Shift high-resolution shooting, handheld HDR, handheld Focus Stacking and more. Not only does the OM-1 do all the compositing in-camera, it does it all with one press of the shutter button! It has the best stabilization I've ever tested, superb light metering, great battery life, great ergonomics, a brilliant finder and flexible controls with numerous programmable function buttons and options, has no rolling shutter effect and flash works with the electronic shutter. Bravo!"

Could not have said it better myself. Although reading these forums there are some perpetually confused...or chronic complainers. You decide :-D

I've been very (very) happy with mine.

I don't even know who Ken Rockwell is or why I should know who he is.

The (nice) images I see on his landing page appear over-processed to me.

Wow! I used to read his stuff wake back in the early 2000’s when I was shooting with the original E-1 and E-3. Funny, his site looks exactly the same…just updated content. It’s stuck in the late 90’s early 00’s and it’s hilarious, but oddly satisfying too :-)

He is one of the ORIGINAL photography bloggers/reviewers from 20+ years ago. Yes, he loves oversaturated images. He has sort of lagged behind for many years, but is still around doing it like he did back in the day.

Can't help it but I always liked KR outspoken opinions and found them useful too, in my case for Canon gear. He is mostly spot on as far as I can see.

Ken Rockwell is one of the most influential camera gear reviewers. His pages consistently rank at the top of search engine results.

I'm sure he does the coding for his site himself and its simplicity has something to do with higher SEO rankings.

I have used his site for researching legacy gear - for instance when I was trying to figure out which Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens version will give me the most bang for the buck (for pairing with my Olympus cameras), he has a page comparing all the versions.

For the most part though, his site was not very relevant for me since he did not have any MFT reviews. I also thought he was kind of biased toward DSLRs, although not everyone finds them as intuitive as shooting with an EVF.

Anyway, it's great to see him reviewing the OM-1 and 90mm. To me it's an indicator of how important this camera is for the future of this system.

I haven't loved another camera this much since my E-M5. 💖

The OM-1 menu and frame rate have received special praise and their own pages on his site.

This page shows ice hockey shot at 50 fps and why it matters:

Also relevant is my recent post about the real-world benefit of 50 fps: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/67040342

Here's Ken's comparison of menus from various systems:

He thinks that the OM-1 has the best menu of all. Thank goodness he's never tried older Olympus cameras! 😅

He literally reviews everything, professionally none the less!

Thinking about it he was an influencer before influencers were a thing. His effect on the Nikon world was massive. He really made the 18-200 dx Lens a huge seller. There was some bizarre old mid range zoom that he liked and they jumped from about $100 to $1000 used on eBay. I leant some useful stuff from him about taking photos. For example this one

On the other hand he raves about everything and some times u turns on what he likes best

But in a world of bland comparisons of iso noise and resolution numbers at least he tells you to get out and get shooting

Ken is someone many won't admit to following, but who actually really listen to what he says. In one, presumably unsolicited stroke, OM System probably got more positive exposure than pushing almost all their other influencers.

If Ken says its good, its worth a try kind of thing.
Agree, exactly my thoughts when reading his review!

Must admit I was a bit surprised seeing him review an Oly/OMDS camera; so far I knew him mainly as a nice source for good info about Nikon/Nikkors.

That zoom that jumped in value was the Nikon 35-70mm f2.8.
This was the lens I was thinking of

But having now read the review of this one I’m sure your story stacks up too
