I have a lumix G80 with a 12-60mm kit lens that i recently got (about 2-3 weeks ago). I noticed when my camera is not used for a few hours or when i leave my battery to charge the camera won't turn on immediately, the battery has to be removed then I would try to turn on the camera. If it doesn't turn on i would try again to remove the battery then insert it and try to turn on the camera and it ussualy would turn on after 2-4 tries. Today i tried to turn in on, I was trying about 5-ish minutes to turn it on and the camera still wont turn on. I don't know what the problem is and i didn't find any other forum with the same problem. (sorry for my bad english)

Solution
Sounds like a bad contact in the switch - needs to heat up the contact for it to work.

Or maybe it is just loading up firmware creating a pause. But if that were so then all cameras of that type would perform the same.

It does not seem 'right' and therefore you should try and sort this out with your vendor.
It's the original.

The camera did turn on eventually after a few hours of it being idle. It still needs a few tries (as I described in the post) to turn it on and it's getting kind of annoying so i would like to have a answer for that.

Return it before it's too late to do so. It could be a bad battery or a problem with the camera. Even if you bought it on eBay from a seller who doesn't accept returns, eBay will have it taken back and get you a full refund if you bought something defective.

If so, return it.

If still within warranty, send to service center.

The described behaviour might point to either a battery chamber problem (check the contact?), battery problem (try another batter?), system crash etc etc etc.

The answer is - it's broken. Return it.

Had same problem with my OM1,in for repair to sensor and processor now under warranty. My theory for what its worth is that the camera is not switching on because it did,nt switch off using the power switch cosequently it damaged sensor probably when changing lens using power switch only and not removing battery also. get it in before you suffer similar fate as my OM1.

:-D

I agree with the others - this sounds like a defective camera. If you can return it and get your money back or exchange it that's my best suggestion. If you bought it new and cannot return it you can go for a warranty repair through the Panasonic website.

If you bought it used and cannot return it here are two things you can try --

- Check the contacts in the camera and on the battery for any visible damage or corrosion. Try cleaning the contact by rubbing lightly with a pencil eraser.

- You can try a different battery. It's a long shot - probably won't work, but it's worth a try before you go for an expensive repair.

Good luck

Could it be because the ECO mode is on?

"Panasonic’s new ‘Eco’ mode promises 900 shots per charge from the same DMW-BLC12E battery used in many older G-series cameras, and specified for 350 shots per charge in the G7. It works very much like Olympus’s Quick Sleep mode: when the rear screen is set to show a status panel rather than live view, the camera will turn itself off after a few seconds unless the viewfinder proximity sensor is activated. However this means it has exactly the same problem; the power-saving sleep mode often won’t kick in if the camera is hanging on a strap in front of your chest or by your side. But on a more positive note, the G80 wakes up very quickly from the power save mode when you want to use it again."

Another possibility, try with another SD card if the problem goes away. Make sure you format the SD card in the camera itself.

No, ECO mode does not do like that.

Likely a faulty camera or some problem on the contacts or hardware crashing. Another SD card could be worth to try, but I am currently mix and match a wide range of cards (capacity, class and brand) without those problem.
