Most products that have MSRP $2000+ are now increased $500 compares to just few months ago. It's not a refurbished pricing anymore. Does anyone know why?

Thanks, checked the Fujifilm refurbished site. You are right. No idea reasoning.

One other thing, it looks like they added Fuji clothing: hoddies and tshirts.

Hi,

Because eggs are now 50 cents each?

What, if anything, has happened to the first pass yield prices? I haven't looked in quite a while. I expect those have increased as well.

The cost of everything else in the world has. Including eggs....

Aside from all the other stuff going on, there is a bird flu pandemic which is devastating avian populations. Here in the UK, chickens are being kept indoors to protect them from contact with wildbirds. Not only has this made eggs expensive, but organic free-range eggs hard to find in supermarkets.

It is kinda funny when you consider Abe’s of Maine has a new gfx100s for a few dollars less than the Fujifilm refurbished price.

Does Abe sell grey market stuff?

Westpark Electronics, LLC (DBA Abe’s of Maine) is notorious for selling Grey Market products with vague labeling. Bait and switch is a common complaint about their operation, along with a variety of others.

When you see "Brand New Factory Fresh Import Model", as in the linked ad, that means grey market import and not authorized import. Abe’s of Maine is not an authorized dealer for Fuji or many other brands they sell. You have to look in their Support Center FAQ page for the disclosures that permit them to operate as they have for years.

Is Abe's of Maine an Authorized Dealer?

We carry a variety of name brand products, some of which we ARE an Authorized Dealer & some of which we are NOT an Authorized Dealer. If you do not see the “Authorized Dealer” logo on the product detail page then we are NOT authorized for those products. Some notable manufacturer’s that we are NOT Authorized Dealer for include Canon, LG, Nikon, Panasonic, Tamron, Sigma, Samsung & Sony.

Read the "Order acceptance and limitations" disclosures. Your order is not a firm commitment by them to sell you anything. Check with the manufacturer to see if they will accept "international warranties", or "Warranty Options: None" could mean domestic service is not provided under warranty.

Any order confirmation (electronic or paper receipt) given to you through Abe's of Maine does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of an offer to sell. Abe's of Maine reserves the right to decline and cancel an order, or supply less than quantity ordered at any time...

Some products offered on our website may include international warranties.

No. They are legit.

it is some flash sale. No idea how they priced it but wow.

I wouldn't worry too much about the countdown timer on the "flash sale". It counts down to zero, then resets, and starts counting down again.

What I would suggest investigating, before purchasing any item from Abe’s of Maine is: the warranty, the manufacturer's policy on service of grey market items, what's included in the box, the brand of any items included in the box, restocking fees, and return policy.

Thanks for the info. Tis price for a new potentially gray GFC100s is great. IT is less than the GFX100s refurbished that Fuji has on their own website.

If you buy the refurb camera, presumably it will come with a warranty. And Fuji probably won't try to upsell you.

But they might down sell you?”

“Refurbished items do not ship with additional accessories.”

Not sure what means but maybe on Fuji products includes things like no battery, cables, bags, lens hoods, etc…

As for warranty, the Fuji refurbished information includes language like no returns and limited warranty.

A couple weeks ago the Fujifilm refurbished price was $4200 and now is $4700. It is interesting how GFX and GF refurbished prices when up by $500 per item

Not looking for either and looking forward to hear about GFX future products.

Fuji had a major sale over a couple of months with big discounts running into January, ending just a few months ago. Perhaps the refurbished pricing has tracked along with the new prices going down with the sale and now back up again. I don't follow their refurbished prices, so I'm only wondering if there's a connection between the sale ending and refurbished prices going up.

This is it. I think you nailed it.

Remember seeing the 4200 price sometime during the sales season and was like wow nice price. Pre sale season I did not see anything noticeable on the Fuji refurbished site.

As a prize, go over to the refurbished site and buy yourself self a T-shirt. The T-shirt are new and they can probably use your cash.

I looked at the T-shirts on your recommendation (I actually did). Not my style, but I'm sure they would be perfect for someone else.

Best wishes to you.

The refurbished price is higher than the on sale price now. I guess they use inventory level to calculate the price over the MSRP. It's kinda dumb and their management is not bothered to check if it's making sense.

Refurbished vs New vs Sale prices as of today...

GFX100S – $4,799.96 refurbished / $5,499.95 new (Sale – save $500.00 / 8.0%)

GFX 50R – $3,700 refurbished / $4,499.95 new (Discontinued)

GF32-64mm f/4 – $1,900 refurbished / $1,849.95 new (Sale – save $450.00 / 20.0%)

GF120mm f/4 – $2,230 refurbished / $2,699.95 new

GF110mm f/2 – $2,300 refurbished / $2,249.95 new (Sale – save $550.00 / 20.0%)

GF45mm f/2.8 – $1,189.96 refurbished / $1,699.95 new

GF63mm f/2.8 – $1,230 refurbished / $1,499.95 new

These are all of the refurbished GFX items I found today. The GFX100S refurbished price is lower than the sale price, but the two lenses which are discounted 20% as new items on sale have a higher refurbished price currently. I believe your "guess they use inventory level to calculate the price" has merit.

My best guess is that current inventory levels of those two lenses as new stock is excessive and needs to be reduced which is why they are 20% off. It may make more sense financially for the limited supply of those particular refurbished lenses to be kept in inventory until the sale ends and then sold at their current prices. Fuji has information on inventory and sales of individual items both new and refurbished which we lack.

Supply and demand are pretty powerful forces in that type of decision making. I doubt it has anything to do with management at Fuji not bothering to check if refurbished pricing makes sense. You can plan additional production of new lenses as needed, but refurbished stock is naturally limited and variable.

I spot checked these 2 lenses because I also own them. You are probably right, they want to push new sales instead.
