Sony a7c shutter button failure

Sony refuses to recognize this issue. As
I was told that Sony has released an internal bulletin to the all authorised repair centers that this is a known issue and the button will be replaced with an updated revision. I got the repair for free, but the camera is still under warranty (2-year standard EU warranty + 1-year extension upon registration with Sony).

Did your repair invoice include the part number of the button?

I have the same issue.

It costs $377 to change the shutter button. Sony refuses to recognize this issue. As least with me they claimed there was no known issue and since my camera was out of warranty I had to pay for the repair. I pointed out I know of some people who had their A7c shutter button replaced for free outside of warranty even without a formal recall due to the ubiquity of the issue. The person I spoke to said this is impossible and refused to connect me to a supervisor or say anything other than the camera is fine and that I am the only person who ever had this issue.
If you are in the US you should email [email protected] about this.

I called Sony again! I just learned there is no American based center for repair support by phone. Repair support in the Phillipines said there are no supervisors. And they said this internal bulletin that you mentioned is a lie. They said everyone online is lying about the shutter button issues on the a7c camera. It was a very sad conversation. Enough to make me realize I am leaving Sony behind if they don't rectify this. When my other Sony cameras break, I am slowly going over to NIkon. This is Kafkaesque.

Also, I called Photo Tech in NYC, and they said I had to get a green light from Sony because they had never heard of the issue before.

I will email as someone else mentioned. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to get a real response from the black hole called Sony.
