this forum, this thread may be too late to influence the Q3, but we may have a mighty impact on the Q4.
If a Q3 is announced, we will then see. Whatever Q3 will emerge, it is already done and in the works.

If we were to create an equation defining “Q3 Anticipation,” dumb hypotheticals would be in that equation … I’m happy with them as they can be on the creative side.

Digital cropping works great on the Q2 (and will work even better on a higher mp sensor), but digital cropping is not the same as working with a longer focal length.
I'm definitely in the camp of hoping there will be 2 models and that one of them will be a 50mm (ideally an F2 APO).

I guess this is the end of my desire to buy the Q3.
I don’t know anyone personally that has a Leica, and my plans were to use this Leica Forum to learn more, find solutions to problems, and most importantly to enjoy camaraderie of like-minded Leica Q3 users.
Instead of being thrilled with Q3 ownership, I will be happy buying an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I guess if your relationship with Leica is that flimsy that it depends on being part of a forum that’s a sad indictment of your your ability to think independently.
If you need the warmth and comfort of other Leica owners, as has been mentioned already, there is another forum that specifically discusses the Q series.

It is not flimsy at all … I am most happy with my LEICA d-lux 7, and I have two friends who consider my portraits of them taken with my LEICA C, type 102, plus all my very popular GigaPans taken with my LEICA d-lux 3.
I am 80 years of age with multiple health problems, but I was willing to take the risk of buying the Q3 at a price point of $7000 or more … everything was to fall in place based on what I wrote this morning. However, the rug has now been pulled with the demise of dpreview. I am very have a warm relationship with LEICA … it’s basically a financial trade off.

Even if you don't buy a Q3, it has more information specifically for Leica users than DPR. It even has entirely separate forums for D-Lux users, and separate forums for all other types of Leica cameras.
I am relatively new to Leica, but I was already spending more time there than here. It's not the same, and I like some things better here, but it is the best alternative (AFAIK). I don't know about other forums on DPR for other camera gear, but I think that LUF will take over a lot of the activity from the Leica forum here.
BTW, I like that there seem to be more Leica images over there and some really talented photographers.
I hope you can make it over there; I think you'll enjoy it.

I vectored towards the Le Chef thoughts, but, not everyone can either express or communicate to the way we would like/appreciate.. There are many Leica connected Forums, whether or not a Q3 ever arrives is another matter. imho, I would jump for a Q2 and go from there. Nothing like using a Leica to cement ones love of both photography & gear.. LI'd normally bite my tongue and not say anything, but DPR is going away, so if I get banned it won't make much difference.
