Is anyone else having difficulties with OM Workspace? I have been trying for the last couple of days, having previously done the 1.3 update with no problems.

I have two problems

1. I am unable to register. It seems to go to 'ibonthenet.com' which is an unobtainable site on my computers. Is this diversion a hack?

2. I am unable to connect to my OM-1, which I think is properly set up with USB setting set to 'storage' and using the supplied USB C cable

Any Ideas? I am reluctant to do the 1.4 update until I get workspace working reliably (even if I could correct the connection problem) I have tried uninstalling and installing again.

When you connect as 'storage' does the camera sd card(s) show as storage devices in your computer's file browser? Do you hear a 'device mounted' sound? Can you upload photos?

Windows? iOS? Linux? Other?

Thanks for trying to help. In answer to your questions, Windows 10. I can see both camera cards on my PC and I get the device mounted sound.

When I answered your question above I was on a different laptop (having previously tried my desktop and another laptop which failed) and this time I connected correctly to the camera and can also see the camera for update. So I should be good to go with the 1.4 update. Still, it adds to my nervousness about doing it!

So the connectivity seems okay. When I click the register app thing I get this page:

which is far different than the site you went to. Could be a hack but a weird one nonetheless. Re-install?

You did the right thing by being cautious.

#1 - It seems many are not able to register using the pop-window which shows when you start the program. I also couldn't 'register' when I did the latest update and wanted to register my EM1-3.
Might want to try this URL, which came up in other similar topic thread:
https://explore.omsystem.com/us/en/register?model=&serial_no
I'm in no rush to register, so I haven't tried yet.
#2 Try a different cable or a different USB port on the computer. Does the camera storage show up on your desktop?
Thx
Yuri

LOL! Late to the party...

In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.” - Henry Beston

Thanks. It's strange that the registration is diverted at least your site looks as though it is related to OMsystem. I'll leave the registration for the moment!

thanks

I have had similar problems trying to register OM Workspace on my Mac. I did however update my OM1 firmware using the phone app instead and it worked fine (beware the update does take some time though).

I risked it and did the update to 1.4 with no problems. It does take a while waiting for the camera to come up with OK. I did not click the 'update completed' or 'OK displayed' boxes until I was sure that the camera had stopped any processing. Settings were saved and reloaded properly.

Now I will see if there is any difference noticeable

I think your Windows 10 might have Identity issue associated with the old Olympus IP address.

I am suggesting just un-install then go to "https://explore.omsystem.com/", then "support" to download the most up-to-date version from OM company.

I have two XPS laptops, one with Windows 10, and the other with Windows 11, neither has any problem connecting.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that, but one PC which failed was with a new installation (the other has had OMWorkspace installed for a few months) Both did the update to the latest version with no problem, so communication with OMsystems is working in some respects
