Tamron 15-30mm F2.8 (version 1) to adapt to a sony a7iv via MC-11 adapter?

I have an opportunity to buy this lens for $300 (missing front lens cap). I am considering adapting it to my Sony A7iv with a Sigma MC-11 adapter. I have read that this tamron lens is better than canon equivalents and even the Zony 16-35mm F4.=

Is this a good idea?
