Faking sunlight for product shots?

5600K is the standard for photographic including ding Cine and video production) daylight. This goes back to the 1930s. Electronic flash is also nominally 5600K.

And yes the color of daylight varies not just with the time of day but also with latitude and local climatic and atmospheric conditions

is works well with matte objects. if your daughter wants to shoot cosmetics, shiny packages can get quite a bit tricky with that light.
Absolutely. The hard key to create shadows (and generate sparkle) is entirely inadequate for a shiny object. Those reflective surfaces require large light sources to model the object contours, otherwise you get nothing but a black mass.

I would mainly use the Bowens 40° Sunlite Reflector if I wanted to create a sunlight look...

.. but almost any reflector would do, if you place it far enough away.
I kick myself for not buying it earlier. Now it is not available.
