Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra photos - You will not read this in reviews

Found out tha the 3x lens is quite bad, way worse that my old Huawei p30

Mah...

reminds me of the Xperia 1 iv, samples from GSMarena showed that they are blurry at tele-end (with zoom) I don't think Sony, like other manufacturers nowadays, had or will ever fix this.

Lot of noise here, did You turn on HDR+E or just HDR? It makes difference, if HDR+E, set number of frames to 50 in Additional Settings->HDR Number of frames, it will make image less noise. You can also switch to matteo18 lib for night shots(lib patcher settings), it's better lib for night shots. I must do some test again, i think my results with GCAM was better.

Here is yet another impressive shot showing off the Resolution of the Camera / Sensor system of the Galaxy S23 Ultra:

Zoom in to full size, and pay attention to the 3 watches on the wall (just behind the back of the man to the left)

Zoomed in, you can see the Hands on the Watch!

So you mean hdr+ in the pop up menu when pressing the option/gear symbol?

Yes, this option must be selected

Ok then it is. But I'm not sure that is active during night mode (at least the option change to astro photography)

Edit:

Ok now i get it, don't use night mode with gcam.

Indeed results are better in normal mode

Night shots MI10 Ultra 50 MPIX vs S23 Ultra 200 MPIX. Samsung tends to overexposure photos, especially in night. Xiaomi shot is with daylight config, so image can be even better.

Firstly thanks for posting so many samples. The thing is , the more I look the more I'm impressed - even on this latest sample, the Samsung shot appears much brighter, while Xiaomi shot is a bit under (to my liking anyway). What impresses me is when resized to the same size of the Xiaomi (to compare apples with apples), there is a huge amount of details, even with that silly Samsung aggressive image treatment (sharpening etc). Then, that 'overexposed' shot reveals the lantern details one would expect to be completely lost.

resized, darkened a notch
resized, darkened a notch

So that sensor has a big potential - not as true 200MP as the final image, yet a very good 50 or so (not a big fan of '12MP vision').

Honestly these photos doesn't seem to be taken from a smartphone...

If so, my S23 ultra is faulty

Just wait 1 week or so or use gcam, problem solved.
