Looking at the 12-megapixel photos in auto mode, I have the impression that Samsung has been competing for years only against itself in the category of the WORST and DISGUSTONG photos that can be taken with a smartphone. I think the S23 is the real king of this category.

On the other hand, there are good things - the battery is much better than in the S22 Ultra, we have Snapdragon, so GCAM should work great, there is 50 megapixel RAW available(not only in RAW EXPERT) and most interestingly - 200 megapixel photos are exceptionally good! Compared to the 108 megapixels of the S22 Ultra, this is quite a different league. It seems that the new Sony Sensor is at least 2x better than the one in the S22 Ultra. This phone has potential and it's huge, but not with Samsung's software. If GCAM is tamed properly, perhaps with 50 megapixels in RAW - this could be the best phone on the market. I REALLY ENJOY TAKING photos in 50 megapixel and 200 megapixels, they really looks GREAT.

Yes, I know - no one likes dry text, so let's look at disgusting 12 mpix and high res photos from Samsung ;)

50 mpix RAW edit - single frame!

I didn't know i will say that - S23 Ultra is decent camera phone, especially in 50 megapixels and 200 megapixels. I will do comparation to P40 PRO PLUS 50 MPIX AI mode and MI10 Ultra :)

Thank you for sharing, quite hard to find reviews on the camera. YouTubers don't even go through the camera which I think everyone wants to know about at this point.

Looking forward to check this on pc!

Congrats on the most complete phone, a true beast

Can you give us a 50MP raw to play with (real raw not ExpertRaw please)?

Is the 50MP mode working normally or does it take longer that shooting with 12MP?

Also what about edge sharpness, better that the predecessor?

The edits in the first post are regular raw

And what does that have to do with my request?

Samsung recently added a very nice function, called soft pictures, you need to install camera assistant, and will let you reduce the sharpening,

Can you install camera assistant, and enable soft picture to medium or high, and take 3 photos, 1x jpg 12MP, 1x jpg 50MP raw mode, and 1x 50MP expert raw mode? thanks so much!

I was open to order on the 1st of February, first devices arrived on the 2nd in Austria, in Germany we get them today.

Thanks, highlight recovery seems a bit low. I thought I would get the whole sky.

And how do you have access to the original source files from the topic creator?

FEW GCAM samples, looks like image quality is stunning. All shots taken in ZSL mode, which means instantly taked photos - no wait for processing etc. BTW. I can't imagine using zoom sensor with stock camera app 🤧It's sooooo trash :)

GCam is that app where you can't even set the exposure time right? I never got why people care about that. I rejected a google phone once because it does not have a proper native camera app.

This can be reason - handheld shot, no tripod at night

That's what Samsung has the nightmode for.

I usually care more for people not getting motionblur doing sports that photographing still images.
