One of the tame ones from yesterday's shoot with Barbie.

Shot at ISO 320, 70-200 f4 L wide open, handheld, AWB, Color Matrix 2.

Needless to say, I'm delighted :) LOVE the way this thing handles.

Great life size Barbie ;-) but I was just wondering why you shoot at such a high ISO in bright sunlight? Any reason?

Certainly, you did not know this, but:

"Glamour / Nude / Bikini pictures - Please do not embed such images in your messages, while we understand that such pictures (tastefully shot) are a big part of commercial photography we do have a worldwide audience and wide range of paying advertisers. If you wish to bring a gallery of such images to peoples attention then please just post a link. We will not allow nude / semi-nude pictures of children or links to such galleries. "

Easy....the extra 2/3 of a stop gave me a 1/125th sec. shutter speed @ f4. At near full zoom, I didn't feel like risking using a 1/75th handheld. However, I'm going to bring my monopod EVERYWHERE from now on ;).

Man you really are a prude dude...

... for posting only one example of your work.
How can we come to safe conclusions?

From your previous writings it is no surprise that you would be offended by this thread there was a big warning on it. Why did you even look at it knowing you would be offended? Secondly network television shows far more skin now days than this photo and anyone who can push a button can access that.

simply inform the poster, without comment, about the rules regarding in-line "glamour" shots. I'm not offended by the shot, so much as I am troubled that such shots keep showing up here, in clear violation of the posted site policy, reducing the family friendly qualities here.

Calling me a prude is uncalled for unless one wants to include Phil Askey as a target, too. I simply appreciate the family friendly nature of DPR and wish it to continue, for my sons' sakes.

I made no criticism of the poster nor did I call anyone any names, in contrast to those that have replied and will reply to my post.

Why must everyone be so rude when someone simply points out what everyone should already know? I gave the poster the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was an honest mistake.

derivative of "prudent", a synomym for wise?

Thanks for the compliment!

So, after creating Adam, God waits for him to wake up and informs him that He has some good news and some bad news. Adam asks for the good news first and God replies: "The good news is I've given you a brain and a p3nis". (I doubt the proper spelling would clear the edits). "So what's the bad news?". God replies "I've only given you enough blood to use one of them at a time".

The more you drive your hormones, the less likely you are to use your BRAIN to make important decisions, (right, Mr. President?). I want my sons to learn to think and make wise choices before revving up their hormones over such imagery. I also would like DPR to remain a place I can bring them too without too much worry we may stumble onto material like that.

Any father worthy of the name would do well to have the same attitude. Kids are having sex long before they have the emotionally stability or intellectual capacity to handle it and are suffering serious consequences as a result.

French, short for prude femme, virtuous woman : Old French prude, feminine of prud, virtuous; see proud + French femme, woman (from Latin fmina. See feminine).]

Word History: Being called a prude ... has a noble past. The change for the worse took place in French. French prude first had a good sense, “wise woman,” but apparently a woman could be too wise or, in the eyes of some, too observant of decorum and propriety. Thus prude took on the sense in French that was brought into English along with the word, first recorded in 1704.

The French word prude was a shortened form of prude femme (earlier in Old French prode femme), a word modeled on earlier preudomme, “a man of experience and integrity.” The second part of this word is, of course, homme, “man.” Old French prod, meaning “wise, prudent,” is from Vulgar Latin prdis with the same sense. Prdis in turn comes from Late Latin prde, “advantageous,” derived from the verb prdesse, “to be good.” ...

Face it..You were being a little uptight with your rules response and now you're just wasting bandwith.

By them, whoever said this was supposed to be a 'family friendly' culture? This is a photography forum and site...David's shot was a great shot and while it has a provocative connotation to it, there wasn't any nudity and it shows great talent. He warned everyone about it...So you knew going into this thread.

First I want to say that I in no way find anything offensive about the pic, but apparently it can cause problems for people who work in the States.

A lot of people are allowed to use the internet at work there, but the thought police have put their grimy fingers in, and if anyone passes by a desk and takes offence to anything they see on your screen, you get instant dismissal, no appeal, nothing, the sack!

Horrendous, but that's what comes of allowing fascist measures to reach the statute book.

So unfortunately it probably is not a good idea to embed posts like this, and we do neeed to make sure that Phil's rules are adhered to very strictly indeed, in fact, that is likely why they specify what they dop about posting pics.
It's a darn nuisance, but we can't risk people being dismissed.

Oh yes and of course it's images on dpreview that are causing this behaviour by teenagers. And this is the only place that such filth is displayed naturally. Your kids live a parallel universe obviously.

Tell me I why someone is allowed to post cr*p (see this I can't even use the word cr*p) about burning greenies on this forum, but someone posts a picture of a women and that's the immoral one.

What the world doesn't need is more pathetic and hypocrtical moralising. Family friendly. Where do you get this stuff from. If you want family friendly go to http://www.cuteandcuddly.com and stop interfering in this forum. If Phil has a problem let him be the one to complain.

I totally agree and know that this does happen in today's world of political correctness. However, DavidB didn't leave any question about what was in this post...He flat out says Glamour Warning in the title. If someone chooses to open that at work, that's their fault. If the title doesn't warn people, then you are right...That's not fair to do to people.
