Fishin' Rights (Pic)

although I agree with Jack that both would have won.

You should send this for a DPOTD. Have you entered them in Steve's as they give out some good prizes if you win. I had one accepted but never won. Now us "foreigners" cannot enter.

I think I like this one better but I'm probably bias with the frame - Geesh - still no signature.

Did you get my Email?? I was up WAY too late last night!!! :)

I sent this one in to the Bestfoto site after the other one ~ but they are so similar, I doubt they'll post it!

I too have sent a couple into Steve's ~ been accepted, and that's all!! But I think I may try again with this one ~ thanks for the idea!!!

I framed this one a while ago, just didn't want to post it until after the challenge ~ I hadn't gotten your signature 101 when I framed it!! Soooo, no signature!!! :)

I too like this one ~ a lucky capture of the different birds! But there was something about the other one that made me choose it ~ not really sure what!!!

Well, we are off to a car show in Tampa ~ I'm taking the UZI, but if it ain't a critter in a swamp, I won't know what to do!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Mr CC ~ much appreciated ~ as was your Email!! :)

One of the neat things I've observed is a lot of these different birds hang out together!!! They all fish in there own way as a flock ~ until they're full, then they go their own way!!

Thanks Mr Rat!!!

The egret has a disadvantange in numbers, but I bet the its beak is
a bit more deadly. Nice shot, Dave!

I can see why you had a hard choice.

They are really fantastic subjects...you very fortunate to have them to brighten up the park...but you witnessed a gator getting one??? That would have really upset me...are the spoonbills on the endangered species list?

Good job on the frame. ;-)

if the gator got a Spoonbill or an Egret. He was laying in the water just waiting ~ the birds knew he was there, as they stopped fishing and stood still for about 5 minutes. I waited to see what was going to happen, then spotted a good shot on a Spoonbill, and zoomed in. As soon as I did, there was a loud splash ~ the gator went under water, and never came back up. I think it was an Egret, as they were the closest to where he was.

Somehow, it was easier to take when I thought the one got the snake!!!

I don't know if they are on the endangered species list, but I kinda doubt it, as they aren't rare ~ unless you're trying to get a picture!!!

Thanks Donna ~ I'm glad you like the frame!!!! :)

Nicely Done. Why can't I get a good shot like that. More and more my pics seem to fall into the category of "snapshot". Anyway, that's a very nice photo.
This was my second choice to enter in Challenge 19 ~ it was close
though, as I like this shot!!!

I don't consider your shots snapshots ~ not by a long shot!!! You are probably as hard on yourself as I am ~ sometimes I look at a days shoot and just walk away!!!

I'm not sure what camera you are using, but if it has Spot Metering, you may want to start experimenting using that. Once I really understood how to use that, my shots really improved ~ to me!!! :)

You take very nice pictures Wayne ~ not snapshots!!!! Not by a long shot!!!

One terrific image....I think it's always interesting when you can catch 2 different species of birds...Right now...I'm not certain as to which one I would have voted on for 1st place....love that cypress tree. The stark white contrast of that heron and mysterious dark b-ground is quite interesting...You MUST live in Florida !!! Cathy

I think Florida is a great place to capture bird pictures!! With all the water, the Winter migrates, and native species, it's almost endless!!!

I do find it exciting when you can catch more then one species toghther ~ but that takes a lot of luck!!!!

Thanks for your kind words cathy!!!!
