First impression is good but camera handling is always a mess in the cold with thick gloves.

Nice pictures from my home town. Lived just over on the ocean side of PL. I probably water skied there before that marina was built.Not a very popular lens, but one that never disappointed me: 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor D.

Thank you, familiar indeed, both of them! Coronado is favorite spot of mine, and so is Point Loma, of which I can’t have enough. I’ve been visiting both places very often for the last twenty-five years…Nice pictures from my home town. Lived just over on the ocean side of PL. October was Pentax Month for me; ran across 5-6 Pentax cameras and lenses, ended up picking up 3: Pentax-M 35-2.8, Pentax-A 50/1.7, and a Takumar-A 70-200/4, plus a Takumar-A 2x teleconverter. The 70-200, 50/1.7, teleconverter, and a couple of Tamron hard cases came in a cheap camera bag for $10, probably because it was clogged with dust from a disintegrating fake-leather lens case; fortunately, very little of the dust got inside to the lenses themselves. (The bag, OTOH, I had to blow out three times with an industrial air compressor; my shirt was coated with dust by the end.)
Haven't had time to shoot with the 70-200 yet, but I've been able to take the other two out a couple of times since then. The 35/2.8 is my favorite so far; here's a few pics from this week.

Was surprised to see this one flying so low!
And finally speaking to the title... most of the trees have lost their leaves, but why is the grass still green? Liked the way all the colors contrasted here.

I had hoped to take more different kinds of images with this budget lens, but the weather was not conducive and I have to admit inspiration didn't hit me either. I did visit the botanical gardens in Wellington New Zealand and got these. It's a fairly capable lens for this type of work, although the background blur is limited by how close you can get but still have the flower fully in frame at 70mm where the macro function works best. So it works best for smaller flowers where you can get as close as you'll ever need to while still being able to keep the target in the DOF.

I've already mentioned one of its 'bigger brothers' the 80 mm f/5.6 Meogon. Now I got to try the 50 mm which also seems to have been an outstanding enlarging lens for its time. I'm pretty sure it's also stopped down to f/5.6 intentionally in order to provide better image quality. Seems to work, as far as I'm concerned (who doesn't care about the relatively slow max. aperture)

It was long time ago, I'm using much more native lenses. Recently I got Contax Makro - Planar C 60mm f2.8 C/Y which is an excellent macro lens but is more than appropriate for the landscapes.
