A7R V wow

"Cannot believe the colours, detail and ease of use. Have to say that shooting in RAW but also at 26MP JPEG (in high contrast B&W in my case) at the same time on the second card slot is a neat feature."

That is becoming my shooting method of choice. Especially if I upgrade to a Sony with two card slots. Hope you also share some shots in the future in Cropped Mode which will also give one 26MP files, RAW. But with the extra reach.
Could you tell me how to set up shooting colour in raw and BW jpg... Sounds a great idea and have never tried it..
It is in the file storage settings. I choose card one for RAW at full quality and card two for jpg at a smaller size. Then simply choose the jpg filter you want (portrait, vivid, b&w etc) and that’s that. I tweaked the contrast and sharpness on b&w to make it a little closer to the Ricoh GR settings I like.
Thanks for that I will try to make it work...

Do you know, if the A7iv produces 14Bit RAW as well with the electronic shutter, or are there some limitations to consider?
Electronic Shutter and Mechanical Shutter in single shot mode (what I happen to use) are BOTH 14bit no matter what. It's when you do burst shooting that the Electronic Shutter can drop to 13bit. There are a number of posts that elaborate. In my case I'm glad as there are NO differences. I don't shoot fast moving subjects nor tend to pan so in my particular case there is also no Rolling Shutter as well. Each person's use may vary. The dread of using ES on the A7R5 is greatly overblown if you ask me.

When I say my shooting method of choice, I did not mean shooting BW jpg, but shooting Color default option for both RAW and Jpeg files. Did not mean to confuse anyone. Have no idea if shooting BW jpg is even a option.

Here are the settings. It’s super easy.
creative look b&w (or whatever you want) and then recording media set to ‘sort recording’ and save the respective Raw or jpg image quality settings to slot 1 and 2
