Except, that isn't a raw file..?A much easier way is to open them with Sony Imaging Edge Desktop and export as a TIF then add them to Lightroom
TIF is lossless and uncompressed though, so it's pretty much close to being identical. The main thing is it can be opened in Lightroom without using coding. Hopefully November update for Lightroom will be next week.Except, that isn't a raw file..?A much easier way is to open them with Sony Imaging Edge Desktop and export as a TIF then add them to Lightroom
It won't work if you are using lossless compression or any other mode besides uncompressed and compressed raw.Yes, I tried it in every thinkable way possible - it won't work for me![]()
Yeah I don't even know what to say to this. Of course a TIFF doesn't contain even close to the same amount of unprocessed data as the RAW file? It can not be used in the same manner in Camera Raw or Lightroom, even if it has its uses.TIF is lossless and uncompressed though, so it's pretty much close to being identical. Impressive indeed! What a beautiful photo, lovely.
I'm just giving an easier solution for people to use if they are struggling with that program. The difference between the two is minimal and if you're having to push out shadows that much then the problem is more with the exposures you are using. The amount I was able to edit with a TIF is more than enough for now.Yeah I don't even know what to say to this. OK, you and I are clearly processing RAW files in very different ways, nothing wrong with that. But claiming that the difference between TIFF and RAW is minimal is just objectively wrong. I don't know why you would even bother to shoot RAW if that's what you believe.I'm just giving an easier solution for people to use if they are struggling with that program. I’d be really interested in your reviews of those lenses on the A7Rv. Looking forward to seeing the thread!I'm planning to make a thread eventually and evaluate how these old lenses perform with the A7R V + adapter, with some sample photos. Probably not relevant to a lot of people, but I bet some are interested!
Sure! Might be a while still, I haven't had many opportunities to go out and shoot yetI’d be really interested in your reviews of those lenses on the A7Rv. This thread dates back to when the A7RV was released, when people were looking for a way to process A7RV files before Adobe added A7RV support to Adobe Camera RAW. They found a hack (replacing the id in the file with the id of an earlier model).Awesome hack! it also works for my Sony A7CR, ARW+JPEG mode
Dunno, my guess is that he just found it on google, created an account and posted it here??This thread dates back to when the A7RV was released, when people were looking for a way to process A7RV files before Adobe added A7RV support to Adobe Camera RAW. Why do you need this now? Adobe Camera RAW added support for the A7RV ages ago. The A7CR was added in V16.0 - the current version 16.4.
