My Leica has an electrical issue so is in for repair. I was left camera-less so picked up a refurbished X-T30 (having only previously used X-Pro and X-T models) from Fuji directly and borrowed the XF27mm 2.8 (old version) from a family member.

Was quite strange having autofocus again after about a year! Quite enjoyed using the tiny X-T30 and although the 27mm isn’t my preferred focal length and is a tad slow, the lens is light and unobtrusive so no complaints.

Anyway, here are some shots from this combo:

It's all about photography

Nice representation of Paris street life! I particularly like the picture with chef next to Le Tricouleur. 40mm is a pleasing though tad restrictive FL. You’ve done well with it.
Thanks v much. Agree re focal length, I’m much more of a 35mm person and when shooting from the hip I misjudged a few shots.

One further observation I would make is that the XT30 seemed to consistently overexpose in aperture priority which was a bit frustrating.

POOLDAY shot with chef and French flag...noteworthy. FIRST PRIZE. Notice the gloomy faces not surprising; winter angst?

Thanks. Oddly enough, the weather both days I was there was stunning. Very mild and sunny!

No doubt your French language skills improved. Wish I could say the same as Englishman retired in France. Hopefully your LEICA fixed and ready for your next vacation in Europe; weather permitting.

Haha! My French is ok - I can get by fine!

Thank you, unfortunately Leica takes forever to get the camera to Germany for prognosis...

LEICA repair....equivalent of hip-operation; not day-surgery. Too many moving parts.
