I'm not usually pointing at the sun 80% of the time, so I'm not too concerned... but come on GoPro!!! :-x

Pulled some other footage where the 9 had nothing, yet the 11 also had nothing (but the sun was to the left of center). Mine might be middle/right only.

labs, shutter angle 3x?, iso 100-800, ev -0.5


even street lights can exhibit the behavior

Please try swapping the lens cover glass from the 10 to the 11 and vice versa, and see if the issue follows the cover glass.

I do not see any new anamorphic lens on the Skyreat web site. And as far as I know Skyreat is the only maker of an anamorphic lens for GoPro's. Do you have a link?

it's not a name brand lens like a Canon or Nikon. Instead the same producer sells to multiple resellers (not just skyreat), just like many other items from China. One source on Amazon claims: "The upgraded version has no hint of vignette effects and is optically perfect. " and "Upgraded Version", plus other statements. There is also a 1.55x version I have not yet tried out.

In the videos, you can see it enter/exit the sun at points.



it shrinks on the left, but extends on the right of the sun.










also have 2 spikes here

From Fall 2021 release.

Could not find the big streak.

2 small stumps to the left and right.

This one has a streak that's pretty "standard".



The serial # is from the more recent production run of 10's.

I wasn't sure which camera was which so only tested V2 with H11 lens cover.



Looks the same as the MLM practically.

Linear + HL.. strange thing is - when panning- there was a dead spot before it turned back on again. These images are in video sequence showing that.

I also rotated the camera around.. Because it hit different parts of the sensor which aren't affected, it goes away and comes back until it hits this section.

So, all I can really say is the 11 is definitely EXCESSIVE compared to other models, which is probably why it is getting called out.

New sensor size?

Interesting to see it on v2 version of the H10B, but not my first one. Maybe something in the assembly process changed, or location. I know Mexico was used for some cameras for a little bit.
