Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Is there any current camera phone which gives better detail/resolution?

Just a quick picture I took today morning. Found detail quite good for a camera phone. Once get the iPhone 14 Pro for my wife, will really like to compare the results. I used Gcam for this picture. I do find the results from Gcam more pleasing.

Yes, i have 12 S Ultra and i know it capture nice photos in 50 mpix, but not even close to GCAM 50 mpix with full res mod. It's more like Huawei's 50 mpix AI, which is very good actually, but not that good like 10 Ultra.

Hopefully in the near future gcam full res become available for xiaomi 12s ultra. Thanks for the info Drzwoid.

This is the first phone camera with images that I love. WOW. I think I am in on one of these...

JPG below is straight out of NOMO RAW app from an Iphone 14 Pro. You can easily eek out a bit more detail if you edit the ProRAW in Lightroom.

The Iphone 14 Pro's main camera in 48MP mode now easily beats all Android phone main camera quality with stock software. If you are lucky, you might be able to match it with a gcam build that behaves well with your phone. Sometime you even have to root/re-install OS if you want the full res modes from Android gcam builds.
If you live the in the US and do not have a vendetta against Apple, an Iphone is also infinitely more usable everyday phone than a Xiaomi/Huawei for tasks other than taking pictures. The choice is easy and time to move on.

Oversharpening and yellowish skin-tone is of human subjects are one of things that I dislike about iPhone camera. Also, sometimes the dynamic range from in photo from iphone stock camera is so bad it even loses to cheap androids.

Does Nomo Raw solves this?

If you have time, please make a thread and share comparison between iPhone stock camera and Nomo Raw camera; human subject and skin tone, landscape, general point and shoot and low lights. Nomo Raw is expensive subscription so a comparison would be great.

Awesome shot with amazing details, i bet this beats even iPhone in pro raw@48mp, what port/xml you use?

I just finish hardcore editing of a library that i work on for weeks now. Will share it once its fully optimized, it works amazing in low light.

All iPhone/Android thing aside - if one needs 48MP out of phone, Apple is the most convenient solution (with the price to pay and no OOC 48MP JPEG). For Android, one must be a geek to get the most. So far, the most consistent 48MP are from Xiaomi 10 Ultra, which is not the latest phone, had to be rooted and GCAM-ed.

New Moto30x pro (with 200MP) may be the first to have full res, 50 MP and binned 12. Again, for those who need high MP pics. For everybody else, pic is what matters.

In my opinion, NOMO raw solves all the short coming of Apple's JPG engine, and it works awesome in all four cameras.. You can see the example I posted and compare it to the sample on GSMarena. They gives a 3 day trial. $2.99 month or $18 dollar a month are really rounding errors off a $1000 phone.

The JPG I posted is SOOC JPG from NOMO Raw App. No extra conversion step required. Just snap, and voila, awesome 48MP JPG.

Yes, I agree. Xiaomi at full resolution handily beats the iPhone at 48 megapixels (resolution wise), a much bigger sensor has its advantages. Even at 12 megapixels, it is hard to beat.

The 12s ultra just mops up the 14 pro / max with resolution. Not even in the same city let alone ballpark. This is coming from an iPhone user too. Not all of us are blinded by the logo.

Iphone in pro raw 48MP slaughter other stock cameras that is true, especially if you put LR nr/sharpening sliders to 0

Xiaomi 12S Ultra gives perfect 12 megapixel output, iphone with 48 mpix stacked RAW gives perfect 32 megapixels output. Math is simple - iphone > xiaomi. It's about pure image quality, i still prefer Xiaomi, because 12 megapixel photos are perfect without any additional process like editing RAW, have better zoom and proably will have 50 mpix stacked RAW too, but we should look objective. It's not Apple/Xiaomi/Samsung forum, but photography forum. Iphone photos never was that good as now.
