How'd it get to be October already?

This weekly topic serves as a place for forum members to share recent work with our medium format cameras. It's OK for medium format owners to dazzle us with images made with other cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with similar cameras to compare notes, chops, and sensibilities.

Using Threaded View helps to keep each person's contribution and responses linked in a tree-like structure so replies/discussions are easier to follow.

To begin:
  1. Add your contribution for the week by responding to this, the first message in this topic.
  2. Change the Subject of your message, then embed your image into the reply with whatever you’d like to say about it. (Embedding makes it easier to participate, easier than a link to an image located outside the forum - but links aren’t a great offense).
If you especially want C&C (criticism/critique) or technique feedback, say so. It’s assumed one does want such feedback, but direct requests may garner a more studied analysis/response. If you don't want such feedback, say so, and others will respect your wishes.

If you feel you've been ignored, select your post, reply to it with a brief note to the effect of "Can I get some feedback?". Not getting feedback on a post isn't uncommon, so don't feel offended - no one is charged to ensure all posts get attention (we're not organized enough for that). If you want particular feedback (composition, exposure choice, etc.), saying so can be helpful for the potential respondents as to what your needs may be.

It is courteous and advisable that, should you post images for feedback, you also make comment on at least one other contribution. Respectful acknowledgment of everyone is the goal, and it’s requested that all participants assume some responsibility to that end.

Jim

When I bought the H2D-39, the back wasn't available, so Hasselblad loaned me a smaller back to use while I waited for the 39 MP one.

Roughly 3 weeks with the new system, tested couple of EF primes and the native 35-75, another surprising kit lens. These were taken hand-held when I stopped my bike, except for the long exposure.

Thanks Jim for hosting this, as well as the one in Nikon Z. Enjoy reading your blogs, haven't finished yet, plenty of info I was looking for.

CC are welcome. I was considered with no talent and future in drawing, by an architect, my father.

There are cool! I like the last one very much. The angles, curves and leading lines are all working together really nicely. The colour gives it a post apocalyptic, distopian, sci-fi cinematic vibe. I don't doubt that it is a lovely building, however the colour of the cladding makes it look neglected. Then the fabulous diagonal colour contrast between the dirty green water and the ominous blueish sky. Magic.

Looking for an image on a day too rainy to venture out with the camera.... My 'house' is exactly 3.4m x 5.4m (11' x 18') so options for photography indoors are correspondingly minimal. This is what I came up with...

Pentax 645 55/2.8 on the Kipon helicoid extension tube.

Thank you Michael 🙂

I was just just liking the lines and shapes from this old car.

Last week pictures taken with the TTArtisan f/1.25 Lens were shown here. I was intrigued, to say at least. I've decided to order the XCD Mount Version in full knowledge of the HB electronic shutter requirements and (relatively) slow eShutter readout times. I simply did not want to deal with yet another adapter.

I took a few test shots so far, dabbling around more or less. Attached is a study of light I converted to B/W. The shot was taken wide open or F1.4, can't recall. Of cause no EXIF either - no contacts etc.

The impression I got so far is that the lens is sharper than I thought it would be. I'll give it a good workout in the weeks to come.

Good in monochrome. Tell us more about your "house."

Thanks for the comment Bob. :-)

Nothing too unusual about my 'house', other than that it is small, and doesn't have any of the usual modern conveniences. Photographically, the light you get is what comes in the windows, background options are few, and your lens better not be too long!

It's a nice study - perhaps 'study' is underselling the image - lovely light and a peaceful scene.

I look forward to hearing more about this lens after you've given it a good workout.

Edit: Had a close look at the last three images. Was this designed as a FF lens? Or always intended for 44x33?

Very nice image, BB.

Did you shoot it in 35mm crop mode or MFFF (Medium Format Full Frame)?

I've not shot mine in crop mode yet as I mainly shoot in 1:1. But you do get soft edges and vignetting when shooting wide open. I haven't done any f/ stop range test shots yet to find the lenses' sweet spot. I'll try to do some this coming week.

Here's one example - shot at f/1.25.

Hi SigmaChrome - I have used the full image circle the lens is cabable of, but I did crop the image a little, and Nik Silver Effex frame covered the vignette probably entirely.

Thanks for the complements Michael. I believe this lens is an "overengineered" full frame lens which does not cover the 44x33 Sensor entirely. But since the new 90V HB is still not being shipped I opted to get the TTArtisan with XCD mount. I have yet to test how much vignetting the lens shows at various f-stops though.

Got it, that ties in with what I see.

Not intended as a negative comment, I use several designed for FF lenses, we just need to get to know how to work each of them to their strengths.

Just got back from a family trip with my wife and 2 year old son. Sadly, all of the shots with my 100-200 have very smeared corners, I'm still going to post them but will need to send the lens to Fuji for repairs. I still had a blast and did mostly bw photography. C&C welcome.

Here's some shots from the trip to Isle Au Haut --
