One, this is pretty impressive! If the grain of sand is .25mm wide then the garnet must be almost invisible?! How did you even know it was a garnet? LoL
I use focus bracketing in my Olympus camera, along with a macro setup I created 4 years ago that allows me to get 9x magnification while using the ability to focus bracket up to 999 images when needed. This one took 175 images I believe. One, this is pretty impressive! If the grain of sand is .25mm wide then the garnet must be almost invisible?! How did you even know it was a garnet? LoLGrains of sand that I balance on another grain of sand and photograph at 9x magnification with focus stacking....this one was 0.25mm wide - a garnet balanced on top. Olympus macro gear
Did you use the new focus-stack feature in a new ML to do the stack or do it the old fashioned way, or at least use a motorized focus rail? Is the sand smaller than a grain of salt??? Geez! Very nice and very creative, simple but effective.

175 images???? One, you're my new HERO, that's crazy, even if the camera is stacking them! The focus must be moving like .0005/1000's of an inch? And the lighting is really good too. Some have a table top studio. You must have your studio in a thimble!!! no rail needed.
Olympus EM1 Mark 2

Olympus 60mm macro lens
The hated/despised and maligned Raynox 505
Wow, that's very cool! I'm surprised that so many are doing some really interesting stuff and how inventive some of them are.
RH, yes this perspective is really nice. At first glance I thought small airplane! Have you looked at that video in the features(?) here about the guy getting underwater video with his drone? I don't have a drone but have been planning to probably get a dji mini3, not so much for photography but for video of an adventure I'm planning to take and some of my photography!
Five Fingers Strand, County Donegal, Ireland - Shot with the DJI Air 2s
A few years ago I bought my first drone and instantly fell in love with the aerial perspective on the landscape. Flying a drone is just as fun as taking a photograph so to combine the two is a bit of a match made in heaven for me. I have lost all interest in the earthbound perspective (for now at least) and am solely focused on capturing Ireland from the air.
More likely a synthetic ruby....is that a garnet in the middle?
The Mini 3 is a great choice for video. However, if you intend to make prints of your work then I would recommend considering the Air 2s. You’re welcome send me a message to discuss.RH, yes this perspective is really nice. At first glance I thought small airplane! Thank you for the kind words! Thanks for taking the time to share these.
No, probably no real photos. I'll have a full sized camera with me too since I'm a photographer first. At least as of right now I am!? LoLThe Mini 3 is a great choice for video.
