oh man,,thats low,,sometimes used is ok..Nice, good for you! I bought a third body as a back up, a Z6 with 24-70/4 in OB condition from them late last year. Shutter count was 36. It's been perfect. Deals are out there, just have to look for them.
I wanted to make sure it wasnt grey market..I read a few posts referring to B and H and sometimes they sell grey market...I dont know it thats really true or not but not taking the chance. Especially if something needs to be fixed.Just curious, why'd you register the purchase with Nikon? I think that's just a mailing list thing. I've never done that with anything I've purchased, as the warranty is applicable regardless as long as I have the original receipt.
They do, but they always refer to them as “international.” They will sell either, in separate offerings, and you decide for yourself if you want to save money for no warranty or pay a bit more for it.I wanted to make sure it wasnt grey market..I read a few posts referring to B and H and sometimes they sell grey market...I dont know it thats really true or not but not taking the chance. If B&H is selling you a grey-market item, they would disclose that fact. I register mine with Nikon. They keep an inventory of the Nikon products I own, serial number and all I believe. And besides, being on their mailing list is a good thing if you’re interested in first dibs on sale items, which in these times can sell out or have their prices adjusted upwards as stock goes down.Just curious, why'd you register the purchase with Nikon? I was considering purchasing grey market for a 100-400 lens. Nobody has them in stock except for AbesofMaine, 6th Ave , and a few on Amazon. But very few would repair it is it had an issue. What is your opinion?
I think I have bought a couple of things from Abe’s in the past. I don’t buy grey market myself because if anything goes wrong there is no repair capability other than, potentially, a local repair shop. And those are becoming increasingly rare.I have not purchased any gear in about 5 years, so I had no idea. I would not buy anything from Abe's at all, saving a few bucks isn't worth it if something goes wrong. Goven how often most people buy gear, it just isnt worth it.I think I have bought a couple of things from Abe’s in the past. Frankly your biggest risk is not repair. It’s that the lens will be badly decentered or otherwise flawed (also a very rare chance) with a problem no one but Nikon can fix, which they won’t, because it’s grey-market. So you end up with a sub-par lens or perhaps months of waiting while … I don’t know what the remedy would be there.
You will save $100 buying the lens grey-market at Abe’s. The trade-off is that if it isn’t perfect you have a $2,600 brick. That is not a good enough price difference for the potential downside, in my opinion.
These are all good things I have learned here,,ThanksI would not buy anything from Abe's at all, saving a few bucks isn't worth it if something goes wrong. This. I do the same thing and also with the NPS registry.I register mine with Nikon. They keep an inventory of the Nikon products I own, serial number and all I believe. I’ve bought from B&H and learned to use their PayBoo card that saves me sales tax on every thing I buy there. Always pay it off in under 28 days to avoid any interest.so assuming I don’t have to or want to return it. I do buy and sell used but only from private sales with individual that have feedback. These are all good things I have learned here,,ThanksI would not buy anything from Abe's at all, saving a few bucks isn't worth it if something goes wrong.
