Show us YOUR beach............. (I'm trying again :-)

Hey Mark, I see you're growing into those "people" shots! These are great! Did the people know you were taking their photo? Did you connect with them to get them prints? Very nice work.

My favorites are nothing new... they've been posted before... All from beaches on one of the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes that extends throughout the city, with the closest being just blocks from my house.

(I guess some of these aren't technically "beach" scenes, but "by the water" scenes...)

Holy Moly Ron! Must have flew right in front of your subject! lol

Incredible shot. I can't get over the water droplets! I guess it proves that water does roll right off a ducks back! haha

Jim
Post your favorite beach shots from YOUR area and, would you be so
kind as to tell us exactly what beach you took the shot at and
where it's located?????
Every time I try to take a beach shot a stupid Duck gets in the
way.... I don't know how it happens. I point my camera and some
kind of bird gets in the way. Seems to happen every time ;-)

Take note of the blurry wing tip.... this was shot at 1/2400 sec... it's not motion blur. The wing tip was actually INSIDE the minimum focus of my lens.

Sometimes you just get lucky ;-)

Lou,

I love the bottom pic - lighthouse by the sea - the way the eye is drawn up and along the beautiful rock formations to the building - great composition.

But - I'd like to have seen a level horizon - my brain is worried that all that water will pour over the edge ;-) (the earth is still flat - isn't it?)

2 degrees clockwise just about does it - what do you think?

Great silhouette shot, Phil !!! Thank you for sharing with us today.

Thank you, Jim. Coming from you.... I'm honored by your compliment since you are FAR more experienced at these shots than I am. I'm still growing used to taking pics of people I don't know. None of the people in the images knew I was taking the shot and, that's the beauty of it for me :-)

Also, since no faces are really dscernable, I reserve the right to use them without "permission" :-) Those are the kind of people shots I like most....... the ones that can't prove they are anyone in particular :-)

I am now starting to carry my business cards with me and, I'm going to hand them to the subjects and ask them if they want prints of the shots, to email me. I'm still thinking this one through though.... I kind of like that the only one who knows it's them, is me ;-)

Your first shot, is my favorite of the bunch. Great tone and love the shimmering of the water reflections.

Have a great day Jim. Hope all is well with you?
