Pictures made with Canon R7 and the Sigma 60-600 in Monkey Zoo Apenheul in the Netherlands.

Hello,

Great photos.

I have question for you about the Canon R7 and the Sigma 60-600 combo. Do you have the problem of EYE Focus like the Sigma 150-600 I have read about? And would you recommend it for use on the Canon R7 over the Canon 100-500?

The reason I am asking is I am thinking of getting the R7 with the Canon 100-500. But is it worth the price for a hobby photographer against the Sigma 60-600 that is € 1400 cheaper. But looks like it makes just as good photos as the Canon 100-500.

I hope you can clear up my question. Thank you for your time.

The Sigma lens is a good lens, and it is half the price of the RF lens. But it is also twice the weight. It’s downright heavy. You may want to try renting the lenses to see which one you like best.

I don't know where you focussed, but if you did focus on the eyes, sadly the images are slightly front focussed. The hairs at the front of any eyes have much better focus.

I was looking at zoomed in original size images.

Great shots! You really nailed focus.

Nice images. I always been intrigued by this lens as the focal length range sounds 'too good to be true' if you see what I mean.... does it work well with moving subjects?

These where my first pictures with the R7 and this lens and i focused on the middle and not on the eyes. That was not good and i have enough to learn.

Thanks for posting, those images look pretty good, are you satisfied yourself?

How is the IBIS working along with the OS from the Sigma lens, assuming you used it?

If they are focused where you wanted them to be focused then it does not matter if someone else would have chosen a different focus point.
