Dogs gone missing... :-(

Well, I just discovered my dogs out missing from the yard... Dawn let them out to do their thing and I had forgotten to close the gate when I went running with them earlier... Only the 2nd time in 8 years they've "gotten away".

Dawn's out driving around looking for them while I make posters. I have little hope right now... it's been at least two hours since they've been gone. If you don't know Siberians... they can run and run and run and run, and have very little sense of direction. They have new collars but I hadn't put on their tags yet.

I'm sad. :-(

Oh Jim, I'm so sorry to hear this. I can understand what you must be going through, having a (very spoiled) dog myself. I hope they are found quickly and brought back home where they belong.

That really bites, Jim. I'm sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing a few years ago. I hope you find them quickly and in good health.

2) Consider having them chipped (do they do that where you live?)

I've had that sinking feeling coming home to see an open gate and a missing dog. Luckily in my case, the dog tag had our phone number and the person who found her called up.

All the best and hope they are found happy and well. They are beautiful dogs.

who used to run away like that. we'd search for hours and hours and then she'd just show up.

Hi Jim,

So sorry to hear about your missing dogs. Having two dogs of my own I know how attached you get to them. Make sure you check all the shelters and hopefuly you will get them back. I experienced a missing dog years ago and I know how you feel. I will be thinkiing about you and I hoping that you get your dogs back.

Well, I'm glad I was up all night putting up flyers! About 30 minutes ago someone saw a flyer just after he had seen two huskies running down the middle of the street. He called me and by the time I got there they needed to be "refound" but my earth shattering whistles at 5:30 AM got their attention (as well as everyone else in the neighborhood).

So, a big thanks to the gentleman who called! And I was wondering if the flyers were just a waist of time.

Now where did I put those special biscuits....

The call came in only a few blocks from home over by my son's school. After a closer look this morning, they had some type of run-in, either with a racoon or a cat. Some cuts below one of their eyes and ears, so I'll need to watch that.

They've barely moved since I brought them in. Tired, tired dogs.

And this morning, a tired, tired, tired owner.

Thank goodness. I know how bad it feels to not be able to locate a dog.

A month ago my dog dug a huge hole in my backyard behind a bush. I called and called her and couldn't find her and thought she had escaped from my yard. I called the police and drove around. When I came back home she was standing next to my son. I just completely broke down in tears at the relief of knowing she was safe.

Your dogs are beautiful.
