I can't decide between Fine Art and Fine Art Rough. Does anyone have any images of these papers so I can see the relative size of the texture?

I'm using a Canon Pro-100 printer to print a photo which was converted to a 'watercolor' effect.

I have and use Premium Fine Art Smooth, and it's still fine art paper with some texture. My hunch is that it would be more versatile.

Compared to Innova IFA-22, another fine art paper: the shadows are darker on the Canon paper, so the image pops a little more - vs. slightly more shadow detail on the Innova. I don't know whether that's because of the paper, the profile, or the printer.

And it does work well on the Pro-100, although my comment apllies to my Pro-1000. I haven't compared the two on my Pro-100.

Bob, here's a sample of Canon Matte. I think it's 310 gsm. It's about the same weight as the Canon Premium fine Art Smooth mentioned by Nick. The smooth has a slight bit of texture with no shine. The matte I'm gonna unscientifically guess has about 5x the texture. It almost looks like a fine canvas and looks VERY watercolor-like when printed on, without a water color treatment. But I can't even be sure it's still made!!!LoL

I could mail you an envelope size sample!!

John

Thanks, guys. I'll go with the Fine Art Smooth. I just wanted a hint of texture - something appropriate for pencil sketch or charcoal. I appreciate the comments and photo.
