R5/R6 Focus Bracketing Lens list from Canon Europe

Hi,

I wondered if I might ask whether anyone has tried using a Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 II USM lens with focus bracketing? I looked right through the thread but can't find any mention of that specific lens.

Thanks!

I wonder what happens when you attempt to use a lens not on the list like my Sigma 50mmf1.4 ART and try the focus bracketting function.
Try it. What I found with the 24-105 EF /f4 IS USM, which is not on the list, was that it worked for closeups (table top shots), but not for landscapes.

I should add that when I used the 24-70 EF /f4 (which IS on the list) for landscapes, the results were no better than when I focus bracketed manually, even though I had more frames to work with. So it was actually a nuisance because having 25 frames to work with instead of 3 or 4 slowed the work in post.

FB works great with my EF-100mm non-L, so the list is not comprensive.
For what it's worth, the Canon EF 24-105 F/4 L is not on the list but it did work when I tried it for some table-top photography and then it did not work for landscape photography, so if a lens isn't on the list it might work in some scenarios but not others.

My two serious long term macro lens tools (EF100f2.8L and EF 180f3.5L) fortunately are on the list and the list includes only a few EF lenses. Lots RF general photography lenses though.

I used focus bracketing successfully with my RP and the Sigma 150mm OS macro before I sold both.

I have just bought a

Canon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS NANO USM EF-S Zoom Lens

This seems to be the same as one mentioned in the list other than the word nano - is it a different lens - should it work?

Same lens. It’ll work great. In fact I haven’t run into a lens yet that hasn’t worked, whether on the list or not.
