I wondered if I might ask whether anyone has tried using a Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 II USM lens with focus bracketing? I looked right through the thread but can't find any mention of that specific lens.
Try it. What I found with the 24-105 EF /f4 IS USM, which is not on the list, was that it worked for closeups (table top shots), but not for landscapes.
I should add that when I used the 24-70 EF /f4 (which IS on the list) for landscapes, the results were no better than when I focus bracketed manually, even though I had more frames to work with. So it was actually a nuisance because having 25 frames to work with instead of 3 or 4 slowed the work in post.
It could be that Firmware update 1.5.2 has addressed this. Now Focus Bracketing works with R5 on my EF500 f4 I, EF300 f2.8 II, EF70-200 f2.8 II, EF24-70 f4, RF100 f2.8 & also with 1.4 Ex.
For what it's worth, the Canon EF 24-105 F/4 L is not on the list but it did work when I tried it for some table-top photography and then it did not work for landscape photography, so if a lens isn't on the list it might work in some scenarios but not others.
My two serious long term macro lens tools (EF100f2.8L and EF 180f3.5L) fortunately are on the list and the list includes only a few EF lenses. Lots RF general photography lenses though.
