@Phil - I'll try to get back on this tomorrow. Please note that I mostly use my smartphone. Just a matter of convenience. Did check yet, but would surprise me if there was such kind of manual setting available with grey card etc.

Yeah, they've dumbed down stock camera apps to make them as simple as possible to use. You generally have to use a 3rd party camera app if you want advanced features. I used FiLMiC Pro when seeing how far I could push the video capability of my phone. It will directly display color temperature and lock or save custom values. Easy to use with a grey card. But the app wasn't updated with new OS versions and has become a bit unstable.

I guess it is possible on the Sony, though I am not sure how to how to get hold of a grey card.

Grey cards are readily available. A white paper towel also works reasonably well.

When shooting outside, the smartphone (Samsung S10) gets me fairly decent, no bluish photos, contrary to the RX100III being a well-know problem.
I often have to correct those afterwards.
(Usually Photoshop > Image > Autotone comes pretty close already)

Don't know about problems with the RX100III. A friend had one and it produced great pictures. But he is an experienced photographer and knows how to tweak the camera for the results he wants.

Thanks for pointing me into the right direction!
Indeed..., the issue is related to Auto White Balance. It's an area I hardly ever go into, to be honest.
On the Sony: I played around a bit yesterday, checking out the various presets and also the custom ones. I need to dive into this further today, i.e. how to measure/set custom white balance profiles.
Already changing the white balance from auto (AWB) to the next one, i.e.'Daylight', solves a lot of the problems, maybe even all, I don't know - will try to figure this out today, also need to figure out/read whether at all it would be possible to adjust the AWB so as to get me slighter warmer colours by default.

I just wanted to post some sort of 'interim' reply, confirming that it all had to do with the AWB.
THANKS again!
truly appreciated your spending time on this.

@Michael (most likely this, meaning Android apps, doesn't belong on dpreview)
As for Android apps - I went from one site to another and another and ... in an attempt to find a decent (=highly rated) app that allowed to set a custom white balance.
Obviously most apps are designed to be as simple as possible: most smartphone users (me included) just shoot and that's it. A group of friends, in a restaurant, with little light only... point-shoot, no time to go into white balancing stuff.
For those situations it would be nice to have some kind of preset readily available.
The Samsung camera app offers a 'Pro' setting where users can adjust, for instance, the ISO, EV and WB. AFAIK there is no option to save a specific WB to some sort of preset.
(Similar to the Sony)
