I don't have this camera but am considering whether to buy it.

However, as a G80/85 owner I don't like the way that the display button on the GX9 has switched position to low down on the back of the camera. I use this a fair bit and it looks like it would be inconvenient to get to.

I wondered whether it would be possible to assign the display button options to the playback button for easier access.

I've looked in the manual but can't see whether this may be possible or not.

Probably not, but if anyone knows I would appreciate finding out.

Thanks in advance of any responses

Just checked and no it cannot be done.

In fact disp cannot be remapped to any other function button.

I don’t find that low position inconvenient at all. It’s so close to my thumb it seems one of the easiest buttons to access.

Trolleyman - thanks for the confirmation. I thought that would be the case.

Maggiemole - it's a personal thing isn't it. I find my thumb, resting on the allotted space, moves better to the Display position higher up on the G80, as it is a shorter distance to travel and I can do it without taking my camera from my eye.

Its never bothered me. I've always found you get used to what you have and what you regularly use.

I've consistently found that if I bother to program a function button to do a specific thing I can never remember what that was or why I did it. Keeps life interesting.
