On a recent post I was listing many things I like about my Finepix. Later, contemplating the subject realized there's one subject rarely discussed here, the Fuji remote app. What few times it's been discussed were negative. No one asked but hey, here is my positive experience. When first testing the app. I used a pad and walked away from the camera taking pictures of myself as I went. I stopped getting connection at around 60 paces or half a block away. That was in a direct line of sight. To be honest, I've only used this a few times and that was just to test the system. I set my S1 on a low tripod in the back yard, where birds frequent. It wasn't long till a Scrub Jay showed up. Sitting in the house I controlled the shot on my phone. Now this is the beauty of an electric zoom. You can even zoom in and out at a remote location as well as take the still or video. On your phone the picture is out of focus but the camera does the autofocus when you take the shot.

This could be useful for wildlife, or perhaps in a situation where there is danger involved, say a lightning storm or Rattlesnake! Do any of you use this regularly?

I just thought of another instance. Getting pictures printed on a machine at a store I was surprised to see it used the Fuji app.
