Will red/blue and tint adjustments to AWB be visible in raw files?

Hi,

If I make adjustments to the red/blue and green/magenta sliders in AWB (or any white balance setting I guess), will it be reflected in how the raw file looks in my editing software (DxO Photolab 4), or is only the color temperature reflected? (Raw files load up with the white balance drop-down option set to "as shot"). Do those sliders only apply to jpegs shot with that white balance setting?

Thanks!

If you post your question in the Retouching forum, you might get more feedback.

In any case, you could test it easily yourself. Do a very strong (obvious) tint adjustment to AWB in the camera, shoot a RAW and JPG, and open the RAW in DxO Photolab. If the opened RAW shows the obvious tint, you have your answer.

No it will not. It probably will be reflected in the embedded jpeg (in the raw file)

In LR, there is a WB setting "As Shot". It may affect the rendering with that setting. Like the previous poster suggested, a test would be the best way to check.

They will show up under the "as shot" WB setting in Lightroom, which is the default.

Yes the "as shot" white balance in lightroom reflects what the camera settings were.

Temperature is blue <---> yellow

Tint is green <---> magenta

But since it's raw you can change in post.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. I didn't even consider to test it myself with extreme settings first..
