Hi all,

I recent purchased Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DS HSM old lens, however AF is not working D5000, where it is perfectly working fine with D5300.

I upgrade both D5300 and D5000 firmware to latest version.

Does anyone knowing, this is due to comparability with Sigma HSM motor with D5000? D5000 itself has problem?

But D5000 is working fine with Nikon VR 70-200 f2.8 lens.

thanks

It seems to be time to upgrade your cameras, that is, replace the D5000 with something newer! Say the D3300, an excellent camera (much like the D5300, with fewer communication skills).

Otherwise, I have no idea why it doesn't work with your D5000.

both my D5000/5300 was IRmod camera. getting new DSLR will have cost of IRmod and Clip Filter size changed. I don't believe Optolong make Clip Filter for D3300.

thanks

Other than checking that contacts are clean, sometimes a camera just doesn't like a lens, especially a third party lens like Sigma.

Its even possible that another D5000 it would work on.

thanks everyone, I finally able to found out the root cause, my D5000 was actually AF not working for unknown reason. It was start of inter-mid work/not working, then now, completely not working.

cheers

Ah, I missed that! But maybe Optolong does make that clip filter?!
