Hi,

I'm finally travelling again. Soon more about that but meanwhile here are my favourite images from Singapore.

https://www.littlebigtravelingcamera.com/?p=17319

Mostly taken with the X-T1 or X-Pro2. Have a good day, mine is already over.

Our next trip to Singapore comes this summer. I have photographed most of what you showed many times, and am always looking for a new angle. I have not used my 14mm extensively there though, and it’s an idea I’ll have to explore. So you have given me an idea. Thanks for the little appetizer of our trip to come.

I really enjoyed your work. A diverse and colourful set! It seems like Singapore is more sanitised than the parts of China that I have explored, but you did the best with what you were given. Do you think that you could have achieved similar results with the 50mm f/2 instead of the 56mm f/1.2?

The very first picture in your article is stunning. What a sight to see from so high up.

Thanks for sharing, I, too, have bookmarked your article.

Thank you. At that the 50/2 was not available but I think beside the images shot with f1.2 the results would have been similar though not identical. I later exchanged the 56/1.2 for the 90/2 and also had the 50/2 but not at the same time. The 50/2 is a nice lens too but I prefer the 35/1.4.

Nice blog with great photos!

Ah, interesting. I was just curious because the f/1.2 is a bit heavier, which isn't nice in that humidity. =P
LOL.

Nothing is nice in that humidity.

I enjoyed my time in Singapore. Amazing place.

Nice photos

Haha, you grow accustomed to it, if you live there - mostly...
Well, I'm originally from New Orleans, so I'm no stranger to humidity.

The first time I flew into Singapore, the flight from Narita landed around mid-night.

When I stepped out the airport I was gobsmacked how hot it was in the middle of the night. :-O

Just a hint of what was to come....

On another trip, I just so happened to be there when the Grand Prix was there. So I took a day off work and went. That was an amazing experience.

I fully agree. I have no problems with heat. So the dry heat in the South West of the USA is fine for me but the humidity in Singapore is something else. I prefer 45 degrees Celsius in Arizona to 30 degrees in Singapore. The worst of both worlds I experienced in Chennai, India. Hot and humid.

I meanwhile settled with 14/2.8, 23/2 and 35/1.4 because of size and weight. Those are in my bag when I want to travel light.

I'm surprised that it's more humid than New Orleans. I lived in Guilin, China, and you could swim through the air during the monsoon season!

I got used to the humidity and love how even the air feels alive, especially in nature. I can't stand the continental climate for the cold half of the year when everything is dead, but then the summer is humid and your body never really acclimatises.

I have the 23mm f/2 as well. It's a great little lens! I'm considering supplementing it and my 50mm f/2 with the 16mm f/2.8.

I strongly recommend to have a look at the 14/2.8 instead of the 16/2.8.

Well, my other idea is to wait for an 18mm f/2 update. I'll have a look at the 14mm, but it's a bit too wide for my tastes, even the 16mm, if I'm honest.

That could be a long wait. Fuji just brought out the 18/1.4 but of course this lens is rather big and heavy for my taste. I just returned from Japan and played in a store with the 18/1.4, 23/1.4 and 33/1.3. All three are for sure excellent but I prefer smaller lenses.

I had the 18/2 and think it is a very nice lens. AF is fast too but of course noisy. I replaced mine with the 14/2.8 because I prefer a wider lens.
