To improve the image quality of the F828, Sony's engineering chief estimated another 12 months delay. Can't afford such delay, Sony executives decided to cancel the F828 project and pull all engineering resources into the F939 project, which will be sampled by 3Q04 and in full production status by 1Q05.

Effect immediately, all sample images and F828 associated document such as specification should be destroyed. To the advertising agencies hired by Sony earlier to promote the F828, Sony will pay a compensation for terminating the contract early.

For any future cameras that will be presented at pulic shows, Sony decided to superglue doors of all memory compartments, MS and CF alike. This will help prevent unauthorized release of Sony pre-production samples.

As a damage control measure and to retain its royal customers, Sony decided to lower the T1 price by 1/3. This will keep people happy while waiting for the F939.

BTW, no pre-production unit will be sent to DC reviewer as a way to lower people expectation of the future F939.

For more information, worldwide customers can visit Sony Japan website: http://www.sony.jp . For non-Japanese readers, Altavista's babelfish is Sony's recommended translation tool.

the 300d sales are going so well that some people have problem finding it in the USA...most stores are out of stock.

Beside some minor anoyances that are some limitation imposed by Canon, the 300d produce excellent image quality and performance. It will not be recalled by Canon..they don't even want to make a firmware update to change the features to let us have FEC..at least for now. They don't care..they have lots of sales.

I'm not sure I understand your statement here as weather it's serious or not. But if it's serious, I think you definately misunderstood the intend of the post. If you read the entire post, you should know that it means for fun. Lots of thing like "superglue the doors" and such are intended purely for entertainment.

I'm sorry if this is in some way miss-leading you.
A writ is in the post .It is too late to withdraw this miss-leading

I don't see anything in sony.jp website saying that F828 is cancelled. To the contrary, it states that F828 will be launched worldwide in mid Dec this year.

Please prove & justify your statement by indicating an exact web page on the image quality problem & the cancellation of F828.
