This is a favorite topic here. The ones who know the answer are not talking and your guess is as good as mine. There had been a lot of speculation here but mostly wish lists of what that next APS-C camera will be.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? Thanks in advance.

I'm waiting as well and whatever that will be will compare it to the specs of the full-frame A7IV. That's assuming that the flagship APS-C Sony camera will be released in the next couple of years. And I got my sights on Canon too if ever they will launch a mirrorless version of their 7D.
As long as it comes with the fx100 battery of the 6600.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? Thanks in advance.
There are no news. They might release a new body some day... or they might halt the line forever without saying a word, it's impossible to tell.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? I'm of the same mindset. I sold my A6500 after getting the A6400 because the battery life was significantly better. I have zero issues taking the 6400 out for a day with only one battery. So for me, the FW50 battery is perfectly fine. Those who do a lot of video would most likely feel differently.too big and bulky.
NP-FW50 is the way to go.
The question is not when - but if. And even if: Sony will have a hard time with the numbering: a6200 works, but a6500 is alread taken, a6700 works again. But since it is unlikely that they will lauch an a6400 successor, still workable.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? I get that but with my having a Sony FF I would prefer to standardize on one battery. I am sure there is a way to make the camera smaller than the a7c and maintain the emount body. This is nonsense in my opinion. Apsc is often overlooked, but it's Sony's gate to ther system. They will upgrade it much slower, but they will. The question is not when - but if.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? Entry level, V-Logger stuff - could be. But nothing I would be waiting for. Now back to sleep and another look at this in two yearsThis is nonsense in my opinion. There next flagship APS-C from Sony should be a mini A1 at less than half the price - this is the expectation of a good number of users. Problem is, A1 is still new, being a 2021 release.I understand that COVID 19 has put a strain on the release of new cameras and lenses the past two years, but any rumors on Sony's next ASP-C release? Those are some of the specs I’m looking for. Since it’s a stacked sensor it’ll be able to shoot at least 20 fps. That and the ability to have 1/8000 sec are two on my wish list. I just had renewed enthusiasm for my A6600 and A6500 for sports so I’m willing to wait even up to mid 2024 for this flagship APS-C.There next flagship APS-C from Sony should be a mini A1 at less than half the price - this is the expectation of a good number of users. First the A1 tech will come down to A9 model. A9 III is rumored to arrive this year, supply chain permitting.
Then, six months to a year later, in 2023, we might see a flagship APS-C from Sony. It will be practically an A1, with new menus, codecs, color science, probably even 8K if it came with that 40Mp stacked sensor.
Sony has recently pushed everything to higher price segment and this trend is likely to continue. Nobody wants Sony to come out with a camera that has the 26Mp sensor that they sell to Fuji, as it is already 5 year old tech. People expect flagship performance for shelling out around $2500 for an APS-C camera.
At best we might see a "normal" BSI 30Mp or so sensor camera that accompanies flagship A7xxx series (if they name it thus), which might be priced in $1200-$1500 range.
There may not be a budget successor to ZV-E10 in immediate future.
This is my best guess.
I haven’t reached that milestone yet but I’m a senior too. So yes, build it and we will comeYes, sounds as though it would be worth saving for ... but Sony had better get their skates on, I'm already 73!
I agree with you, the latest models are very cometitive with any other APS-C cameras. I'm not sure if my a6300 is what you could call "the latest models", but it does have the exact same imaging sensor. There are no news. The good news is that the latest models still work better than the competition unless video bitrate and sensor scan speed are the things that matters to you.
