I am really pleased by the s21 base model results from UW and Wide camera, especially for landscape, nature, general or night photography. But the samsung portrait algorithms/ hardware really needs serious improvement. Maybe the 77mm- 85mm equiv. option like in the 13 pro is the best tele configuration, achieving natural compression with good background computational photography.

That's exactly the same setup as S20, so no tele lens. They also removed SD card slot and MST functionality from Samsung Pay. Hard pass! On the other hand the latest mid-range A72 model has all those features as well as 3.5mm headphone jack. My last Samsung will be S20 Ultra, after that, I'll switch to something else.

Sadly no reasonably sized midrangers anymore. The A series is just too big and tablet like for me as almost everything from the competition, only Iphone and base s21 are comfortable to carry in the pocket and operate with 1 hand.

MST I have never used, in Europe at least almost everything works with NFC several years now. Bluetooth or wireless headphones are hassle free, since no cables dangling around you, so no problem from me.

I was surprised to find that the latest issue of Gentleman's Quarterly, Dec 21-Jan 22 US Edition magazine, has portraits "captured on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G".

most of them look unsharp, why is that?

Great place, terrible pictures quality. The last good Samsung was S9.
In what universe? 😂 I had S9+ long time ago - it was most crappy phone camera in my life. Every phone i had before it was better including Galaxy S5, S6, Lumia 950 XL and Xiaomi MI8, LG G6, LG V30, HTC U10 and proably others i can't remember right now.
