Has anyone hacked the sony menu system on the A73?

...to get the new more colorful and intuitive one...?
The new menus only ship on cameras that have the newer Bionz XR processor.

It's unlikely they would be operable on the processor in the a7iii, even if someone found a way to shoehorn the code in. Operability aside, there might well be performance issues (the new processor is considerably higher powered).

I don't find the new menu system too hard to adapt to.

What I do find to be a nuisance is that I'm currently using two cameras, one with the old menus and one with the new.

Fortunately I don't need to use the menus much in practice, but when I do, moving back and forth between old and new is a bit of a grind.

Specifically, if I tweak a setting on one of the cameras and decide I want to tweak it on the other (to keep the bodies "in sync" as much as possible) I then have to scratch my head to remember where the setting is located in the other menu system. Feels a bit like being stranded in a foreign country (for someone who's not fully bilingual)! LOL. ; o

Give it a week or so. Suddenly the opposite is true. ;-)

Then you should try a Canon. Just got me one for a certain job (am fully into Sony for anything sensible, just those odd interests you know).

That highly praksed Canon meny system was just as bewildering as the old Sony menu system. Everything is down to what we are used to. :-D
