The ranking of these lenses seems somewhat subjective as presented in the videos. If he did any clinical testing (since we are talking about sharpness here) he sure doesn't reveal it in the videos.
 
An extremely limited set of lenses were tested. Perhaps the sharpest he has tested, but certainly not the sharpest lenses "ever" made. Not really useful at all.

Seriously? Samyang?

Don't get me wrong Samyang gives us good value but one of the top 7 sharpest lens ever? I guess I know why I never subscribed to his garbage channel.

Should I even bother to look at the other ones?

didn't even expect to see the actual sharpest lenses like the CV APO-Lanthar, not disappointed.

all he knows are the common cheap lenses, the Otus because it's famous, and the premium GM/L lenses. Such shallow knowledge, what a joke.

His opening graphic on the 24mm is "The sharpest lenses I have tested" so yeah, he pretty much admits that. I have the Nikon 24mm S lens and it the best 24 I have ever had, yet he rated it 6th. Hmmm.....agree, not useful.
 
I'm forced to ask, is this a joke of some kind?
 
Needs the ZEISS Distagon T* 25mm f/2 in there. He would have thrown the rest against the wall and danced rapturously amongst the bits with only a beach towel around his waist while going full bandleader with a couple of lit tiki torches. And that would have been a killer vid.

There is nothing wrong with the lenses in the linked videos. However, if one claims to show the "7 sharpest ...", he should test them all!

He does do testing, he will have video out on a particular lens in the line up. So for example, you can check out his video of the Canon 85mm f1.2 but if I recall he also compares it to the Canon 85mm f1.8.

What more is there to say? He didn't even test a single lens from every major brand.
