The hour of truth has struck

The differences between sensor sizes for most uses amounts to the difference between what you need and what you want.
What determines what I need?

My want, of course ;-)

You seem to forget the power of marketing, trends, influencers, false information circulating!
And the lack of knowledge of a very large number of users who are completely dumped.
I am dumped - what are you trying to say? That FF sensor is actually a 4/3rd sensor with the larger border around it?

I would buy a FF kit if it were the size of my EM10MK1/ 17mm/1.8 combo... I think it might be a while before I do however!
I would by EM10MK1/ 17mm/1.8 if it was waterproof down to 100 feet depth.

I like the idea of that camera. It is a compact full frame. BUT, it isn't cheap (to me) and replicating my MFT lenses would be even costlier and the lenses larger.

I'm a casual shooter and more than happy with MFT, so why would I even bother? I know there are people with deep pockets (or who are foolish with their money) and buy a bunch of cameras or switch systems to the latest and greatest but for me, NO WAY! I now shoot with the worst rated camera of 2020, the G100, and I love it!
No one is telling you to change your camera and for my casual photos, I use Pixel 4 and happy with it. So why would I even bother?

You are free to have your own conclusion. But without lying to yourself ..
Which seems very difficult for a large majority, already well-equipped photographers who immediately feel attacked by their personal choices.

Whoa - calling large majority to be lying to themselves? What's this about? A projection?

So when i am shooting with PEN-F, I don't feel attacked but if I am using D850, I feel attacked?

You don't say...

Is it better to use a mini µ4 / 3 format or a largeR FF format?
better or not, it will always depends on what you want / need to achieve.

- want to get more reach but reasonable size? go with smaller format

- want a generous dof? use the small

- want a stupidly wide (rictilinear 9mm efl)? go with the larger

- want a hair thin dof (that zeiss f0.7 on kubrick's film)? don't go with the smaller...

the things with large format (35mm and above) vs other (super 35 and below) on photography is not that different for film folk. why you go with that bloody monstrous, super expensive and noisy machine called imax camera, when you could go with that affordable, so compact, and just like a wishper machine called 8mm camera? and i bet, at the most of the times, they will always pick the larger, if it's not for an artistic purpose...
20 MP is enough, or is it better to have 36 MP and more ...
well, it matters if you print your work, or so i've seen when my friends comparing the output of their d850 vs 5dmk4 on an a1 paper if i'm not mistaken.

but as a person that got some experience on post-production of super 35 film into 8k video and super 16 film into 8k video. i'd rather go with the larger if the money is not a problem...

My experience, I have produced and published on several sites Francophone and Anglophone, over 240 comparisons.
We end up getting after several years, so much information about human behavior, than on cameras.
The type of equipment does not matter, to want to defend him with his eyes closed.

Yes I noticed that no f1.8 as well you should stay way away from 1.8 with the Nikon...unless you love purple. Shame otherwise I always thought it was the right size but alas had to go with the 1.4G which I couldn't find any errors in.

You remind me of memories of my youth, I have already worked with the IMAX format, in the 80s at NFB (National Film Board of Canada) TRANSITIONS the first IMAX 3D film

This is also true with HI-FI Audiophiles, gun club conversations, motorcycle clubs, etc, etc- you really are not saying anything new.

However, your comparison is rather incomplete. Do this at ISO6400 and then the truth shall set you free.

Also match the viewing image size. Then try this with 3 stop under exposure with PP to brighten the image. Just try to pull up the deep shadow...

I am not saying one camera (format) is better than the other but that there are differences.

FF difference disappears if the DOF is matched is one of those misinformation that I find objectionable, beside no one being forced to match the DOF.

Personally, I opted for the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART
Superb lens, but very heavy

Everything is possible, Looked at the size of the Minox 35 EL (1974) it was a 24x36
Indeed, I use to own one. The Olympus OM1 FF film camera was the size of the EM10, and the lenses not much larger than M43 ones if at all.

You are doing exactly one of the behaviors I just described!!
Before telling me that the comparison is incomplete, and offer to take pictures at ISO 6400
If you had looked seriously at the comparisons. I have pictures at 400ISO, 800ISO 1600ISO 6400ISO, and 25600ISO !!
This kind of remark is particularly insulting, Give advice, without having taken the time to analyze the results.
Such a classic behavior

And I find it particularly ridiculous to make comparisons that will never be useful to me.

Exactly the behavior you describe - "it does not matter that there are difference since I will never see it".

The differences are demonstrable for everyone, regardless whether it matters to you or not.

BTW - You have shown only two sets of photos at ISO200 in your post.

I'm sure you have pictures at ISO25600; why don't you show it side by side?

Here is my take at ISO6400 from the DPR studio comparison.

But I know, you will never take a photo of a text...
