Hi, I'm a relatively new filmmaker and I had a few questions about setting up an interview.

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to some aspects of shooting and setting up everything when it comes to video. Recently I was tasked with filming an interview for my college English class. The assignment has pretty basic requirements as far as videography goes, but I wanted to get some practice in while I can. I have a Panasonic S1H camera and one light stand. I was wondering how I could set up the interview to make it visually interesting.

The interview is just one person being filmed for 5 minutes or less. I wanted it to appear less like a hostage interview so I was thinking about renting another camera to help with that. Otherwise the main things I need help with is where to place the lights, camera and the best settings for an interview. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you for reading.

You might get more responses if you post this in the Studio and Lighting Technique forum.

Rather than advising you what to do from scratch, it would be easier for you to find an example of an interview that you would like to use as inspiration. Then people in the forum can give you more specific advice.
