There is no USB 3.1 Type-c header on the motherboard

The case type C front port will only work with a type C header on the motherboard. So you'll need a different motherboard. Or maybe there's some kind of adapter or PCIe card.

I went through this with a low end X570 motherboard. I ended up replacing the board for many reasons, primarily because it would only work with a very limited selection of RAM at rated XMP profiles. My current X570 board has a header for USB C that is connected to the case but I only have one USB C device that I rarely use.

I could not find a PCI-e adapter with a header for the USB C port on the case. The issue has been raised on other PC forums with the same conclusion, but there might be one out there somewhere. The device linked to above does not have the appropriate connector.

There are adapters to convert a USB C plug to USB 3. In reality there will be no perceptible difference in transfer speeds between USB 3.x and USB C.

I may be misunderstanding the problem but if your only need is to make the ports accessible from the front, could you buy a port extender, plug it into the port in the back and then position the extender anywhere that you want it.

I'm in the same situation as you (my mistake when I bought my motherboard). I bought a six foot type C cable and plug it in the back.

Yes it will. I have added this type of device on computers I have build. I think you can find even cheaper cards. I think I paid $9 for a card.
