R6 'Live-View' Timeout

Setup (yellow wrench) menu, screen 2 > check settings on Power saving and Eco mode.

I have the same problem--the EVF goes dark after about 5 seconds.

I have my R6 set for EVF use primarily. (I customized the red movie button to switch between the EVF and the LCD.)

When I take my face away from the R6, the EFV goes dark after 5 seconds. When I return my eye to the EVF (or push the AF button), the EVF re-activates--but there is a delay--which is very annoying when I'm shooting sports.

I have Power Saving disabled for the EVF and Eco Mode turned "Off." (Wrench-2).

I tried putting a piece of black electrical tape over the EVF sensor, but that did not solve the problem.

I see that DaiAppy7's post has been un-answered for a rather long time. Does anyone know how to keep the EVF active all the time?

I think that I have found a resolution. I cut a small piece of aluminum foil, doubled it over and used black electrical tape to secure it over the EVF motion sensor. The EVF now stays active continuously.
