This is the weekly Show Your Snaps thread where we invite you to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. I'll be sure to comment about your photos, if you choose to share.

When you are posting your own images please submit them as a reply to this post. Otherwise your pictures may be overlooked. You might also consider describing your pictures in the subject title. See my own photos for this week as a reply.

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too. Thanks everyone for your participation.

This is open to all camera systems and skill levels.

It's that time again for ducklings and goslings. I was surprised to see them last week when I was walking through a park.

Photo No. 1 - I first found these ducklings. OK, I could see this opportunity to be great for pictures.

Photo No. 2 - The lighting and depth of field was good. I liked the reflections.

Photo No. 5 - At nearly the same place, these baby geese surprised me.

Photo No. 6 - I had to take some quick pictures, before they took off.

Photo No. 7 - I saw the same goslings in another location, on the other side of the pond.

Photo No. 8 - A person doesn't want to get too close to the babies.

Photo No. 9 - Although one time I was able to get close at a wetlands preserve by sitting down and making mama feel comfortable that I was not a threat.

Photo No. 10 - And finally one more of the goslings crossing this path.... I hope you liked this series.

Hi Digirame,

Lovely set, I find the Canadian geese quiet aggressive at this time of year what with nests and young ones. Once things get back to normal they become fairly docile again, living peacfully with each other and everyone else. :-)

Hi all,

A walk along the River Goyt.

The Millennium Walkway, a 160m long walkway. (Aperture f/8 ~~ (SS): 1/80 ~~ ISO 100 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: AI Servo ~~ FL: 17mm ~~ Lens: Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Where there's water you'll find Cormorant. (Aperture f/7.1 ~~ (SS): 1/400 ~~ ISO 640 ~~ EC: +1.33 ~~ PASM Mode: Custom ~~ Metering: Partial ~~ Focus Type: AI Servo ~~ FL: 300mm ~~ Lens: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

This Heron's after frogs and toads. (Aperture f/5.6 ~~ (SS): 1/500 ~~ ISO 100 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: AI Servo ~~ FL: 300mm ~~ Lens: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Thanks. The adult geese stay quite close to the young ones. I've never had trouble with them, but I suppose it's because I'm cautious. Occasionally I will see the geese chase each other, striking with their beaks if they aren't happy with something. Other ducks do the same thing, especially the wood ducks. They can be protective, staying near the ponds with the reeds, in case there is a predator.

I just love that first photo. I can hear the rushing water and find the walkway interesting. In two locations near where I live, we have some long pedestrian bridge/walkways similar to that. Every time I'm there I take pictures of them. Ah yes, the cormorant; I like to get close to them, so close that I can see the blue eyes. Those are beautiful Marigold flowers. That's a good one of the heron. Yes, they will eat frogs and small mammals too.

Hi Digirame, Thanks.

Yes the rushing water is quiet noisey around there as it cascades down the weir and I found the Heron wading through some swampy terrain catching frogs.

That looks like a peaceful scene. Did you take that picture in a city park? Or did you take it in the countryside?

It is from an ecotrail in the countryside, although we have such sites in few of our city parks in the capitol

I really like the bright spring green colors. I've taken photos like that previously, but I didn't know if people were interested. But that's what I like.

Here's one from last year. After a long winter of bare trees and shrubs, it's nice to see all of that green. I like your first photo the best.

There is something very soothing in photographing woodlands and seeing woodland photos, at least for me. Just the calmness of the forest really helps me relax

Your wife has done a good job of raising those flowers. They are fresh and colorful. I like your lawn ornaments as well.

Digirame,

Thanks. I'll tell her you said so.

Everybody needs a little whimsy in their life, I think.
