I don't actually post any pictures on Instagram myself, I use Flickr, but I do have an account so I can follow some what I think are great photographers. It can be quite difficult finding the gems on IG as so many people use it, which is why I'm creating this thread. Please post your top 3 so I can add them if I like them.

Picking my top accounts was quite difficult but I didn't want to fill a page with links so I've chosen only 3.

While this photographers choice of subject is not always the most interesting, his use of colour makes his work extraordinary.

Here's a photographer that looks at the mundane and sees art. If he's using any compositional rules, I have no idea what they are.

People waiting a crosswalk has never been more interesting. Beautiful light and colour.

Yes very interesting accounts. I keep telling people that there is plenty of excellent work on Instagram, if you only put in a little work to find it and I mean very little work but the doubters are many and most don't even seem to look at the site.

Yes, I agree. Some of the work I've found on instagram is truly excellent and diverse. I also like looking at Flickr on my laptop but prefer using instagram on my phone as I think it's better laid out. However, one of the reasons I don't use it myself is because you can't upload photos straight from your computer. No idea why.

I know and that's a pain but I just tether my phone to the PC and drag them across and then upload.

As someone said, there is plenty of good work on IG if you only take the time to look. Yes, there is a lot of junk, but them about 80% of what's in bookstores is junk, and the same for art galleries. While I'm out in west Texas, most of the photographers I follow are in Russia and Eastern Europe, Germany, and Japan -- work I would rarely or never see anywhere but IG.

My problem here is holding it to three -- these are from my feed this morning. I could look again this afternoon and come up with a completely different set.

Stretching a little, 3 photographers plus 3 other artists -

Black and White portraits

More portraits:

I am fascinated by the way Japanese photographers use color. This is just one of several I follow mostly for the color:

And artists in other media:

Assemblage sculpture:

With a bit of religious symbolism:

and puppets:

True it's difficult to choose 3. Maybe that's a stupid rule ha. Thanks for posting those. I enjoyed looking through them.

Here's 3 more:

I would not mention my favorite instagrammers. because they might be no use to you.

My favorite instagramers are simply those who interact my instagram account with likes and comments (let it to be praising or critics)

I do not look great photos via Instagram. I have other platforms for that. But yes here and there I stop and see some but would not follow them. My purpose of having insta is showing my work to others and getting maximum reach on the platform. Famous instagramers do not bother about my account nor posts :-)

I don't follow them. But i have them bookmarked. Their work is impressive

I cannot say I use instagram so I can only point to my daughters one

She has recently become interested in photography so I gave her my Z6 when I purchased the Z6II (We share my lenses).

He... know the last one as well! Like his shots!

Already passed the feed of lumino... as well... love that moody filmic style.

Didn't know discover_still yet... also great tip!

Nice tip offs! The last one I knew... love his underwhelmed street shots!
