We have a stray that pops around once in a while. Our cats are all indoor cats and never go out. Wet wind and cold out the poor stray can only look in as the house cat sucks up the heat at the nearby vent.

That's a very charming shot. The lighting is gorgeous and perfect. I just wish you had a bigger depth of field so that the background cat would be a little less out of focus.

Still, good work.

Thanks, I thought I might have had enough DOF for the effect, any more and I think you'd end up with a blob on the other side of the glass.. But point taken. Thanks =)

I absolutely love the composition and the story behind this photo.
Of course, I want to reach out and cuddle up the poor kitty
outside. Too bad I'm allergic to cats. Great work here. Keep 'em
coming!
Thanks M8.. I have too many pics taken of the cats with the UZI, it's time to see them again with the 300D. If you like cats, check the cat gallery at http://www.eastcoastphotos.com/

Cats are SO much fun to shoot.. with a camera I mean.

I've got one indoor cat and two dogs so there is just no more room for any more animals... recently, some commercial land was developed which sent all the stray cats to my neighborhood... we started out with one stray, he's our official porch kitty (we call him Yuki - anyone see Animatrix???) but now another one's coming around and trying to steel Yuki's food... this time I let him cuz I wanted to get some pics of him... not a big cat fan but this one's cute...

this is a story based link... 5 shots in all...

If you're that good of a critic... what are you doing here?

I howled.. I laughed, I went out and bought the book =)

Nicely done!!

Yuki told me he expects royalty fees from the sale of "his" book.... I'll just tell him it ain't selling.

Thanks John, the stray shows up 3 times a day for a feeding so I'll have a lot of opportunities to try again.. Poor thing, torrential downpour... he showed up soaked and shaking.. I put a towel out for him this morning and he promtply rolled up in it after his morning meal and had a nap.. can't bring him in the house though.
